The melancholia of the opening track „In The Sun“ is like running towards the sunset, trying to obviate its descent, when you know you should rather just halt and enjoy the warmth of its last rays. 
„Rise“ is a slowly building and heartfelt dance floor affair. Its trippy arpeggiator is accompanying you while you fall deeper down the rabbit hole. 
„Reload“ is a stopover on the journey. Glance around and feel it all: your heart is pounding, the colors never shone brighter, and your tour guide is pointing out all the places where you can find spiritual enlightenment.
And title track „Acid Afternoon“ is the story’s centerpiece: All engines are go and fuzziness fills the room. Don’t look too far ahead, just focus on the now.

The 39th release on microCastle welcomes Andre Sobota back to the label for his third EP in the last four years. The Brazilian producer has continued to impress since his hugely successful 'Surrounded By Time' EP from the summer of 2012. Andre's unique melodic sound has been enchanting electronic music fans ever since and he continues to be a favourite of Above and Beyond, Sasha, Hernan Cattaneo, Eric Prydz and Pete Tong. Andre's new EP for microCastle is entitled 'Triangles' and includes 3 brand new original productions alongside remixes from: Robert Babicz, Microtrauma and James Teej.

The EP begins with the title cut 'Triangles' which would have to be one of Andre's standout melodic compositions to date. Led by some of this year's most sun drenched harmonies along with a dynamic groove and ethereal sonics it's sure to be a standout for the summer season. The lone remix of 'Triangles' is provided by Robert Babicz who is making his first appearance on microCastle. The Polish born Germany based producer has been one of the most influential artists over the course of his long and storied career in electronic music. Robert’s discography is full of impeccably produced classics like ‘Dark Flower’ and ‘Remote Kiss’ along with many others which all stand the test of time remarkable well. He’s updated some of electronic music’s most revered classic’s like Hardfloor ‘Acperience 1′ and Cybordelics ‘Adventures of Dama’ which both appeared on Harthouse over 20 years ago. More recently Robert has several stellar productions released courtesy of John Digweed's Bedrock records and his own Babiczstyle imprint. For his 'Triangles' interpretation Robert has transformed Andre's smooth and serene original into a funky, tech house bomb. The main motifs have been conveyed in a more subversive way and the end result is a groovy melodic cut that's perfect for your summer dance floors.

The second original 'Morning Lust' sees Andre with another unique progressive techno production. Irresistible hooks, a grinding groove and haunting motifs all wrapped in a lo-fi approach make for another standout melodic production. The lone interpretation of 'Morning Lust' is provided by Microtrauma who are returning to microCastle for their second appearance. The German duo who are renowned for their detailed sound first appeared on the Canadian behemoth in April of 2012 with a remix of Cid Inc & Lank's 'Emotional Self'. Subsequent appearances on Herzblut Recordings, Sudbeat and Traum have highlighted the duos discography in recent years and they've turned in a cutting edge interpretation of 'Morning Lust' here. Microtrauma has stripped the track down into a lean and exhilarating melodic techno construction. The duos fluid energy is renowned and once again on point here with waves of sonic details firing through the mix. A chain of feedback thematics during the main break proves to be a highlight and gives the track an even more distinct sonic aesthetic.

The 40th release on microCastle welcomes Jamie Stevens back to the label for a new EP. The Australian producer is making his fifth appearance on the Canadian imprint which follows his critically acclaimed 'The Wonder of You' EP from 2013. Jamie has achieved an amazing level of critical and commercial success over the course of his career. As one of his country’s most talented and sought after music producers he has proven his skill in professional sound design, music scores for film and contemporary electronic music. As the founding member of Infusion, the much-loved Australian live act, he’s left his mark around the globe, headlining some of the biggest and most respected clubs including; Fabric- London, Pacha – Buenos Aires, Womb- Tokyo and festivals such as Glastonbury, Coachella, Roskilde and Creamfields in Moscow, Brazil, UK and Argentina. In his home country, Infusion has received 2 prestigious ARIA awards for their work. More recently Jamie’s solo discography has been highlighted with a contribution to John Digweed and Nick Muir’s ‘Versus’ album (released courtesy of Bedrock) along with the aforementioned ‘The Wonder of You’, reaching #1 positions on Beatport in Tech House and Electronica and now regarded as Jamie's career best piece of music. Standout remixes for King Unique and Robert Babicz were showcased in the the first half of 2015 and now microCastle is pleased to present Jamie's long awaited EP entitled 'The Healing' alongside a remix from label artist Guy J.

The release begins with 'My Tears Don't Help Me' which finds Jamie crafting a deep and emotive number in his own inimitable style. Anchored by subterranean beats and a low slung groove it's an immediately compelling piece of music, compounded by vocal motifs and orchestral designs. It's a deeply moving vibe and one which comes from a real life place. In Jamie's own words "After a succession of very trying months this past year, the vocal sample I came across when making this track spoke to me sincerely. It was the perfect fit for the music I had created from the same headspace."

The lone interpretation of 'My Tears Don't Help Me' is provided by Guy J who is making his fourth appearance on microCastle. The Israeli born Malta based producer is fresh off several triumphs in 2014. Guy's 'Once In A Blue Moon' EP, released courtesy of Bedrock Records was one of the year's most critically acclaimed releases. Reaching #1 in the Beatport Top 100, its sophisticated melodies touched the hearts and minds of music lovers around the globe; it proved once again that there is simply no one better at crafting soulful sounds. Guy also readily accepted the challenge of updating one of electronic music's seminal ambient compositions, Barry Jamieson's 'Stars', released courtesy of microCastle. A daunting task and one which he pulled off with resounding success. As the collective electronic music underground anxiously awaits Guy's newest studio creation microCastle is pleased to present just his second production of 2015. For his 'My Tears Don't Help Me' interpretation Guy has put his own magical touch on the production and reinvented it for a peak time dance floor. It's tough, driving beats and big, commanding drums bring an energetic presence while a storyboard of indistinct motifs tastefully lift the emotion higher. Charming use of the vocal elements combined with a poignant breakdown of keys leads the piece to an elating finale; one which is sure to unite your dance floor for a special 3AM moment.

Rising Rome-based DJ and label owner Frankyeffe goes head to head with veteran German DJ/producer Oliver Lieb to remix his 1995 trance classic, ‘Oasis’. The track, which was originally released under Lieb’s previous alias Paragliders, has been reimagined on ‘Oasis 2020’ through two separate remixes and will be released via the Italian DJ’s own Riot Recordings imprint. 

Marking both Frankyeffe and Oliver Lieb’s maiden collaboration project, ‘Oasis 2020’ sees both artists rework the 25-year-old original track by employing each of their differing styles for equally electrifying results. This essential two-track single release begins with Oliver Lieb instating thicker textures and meatier production providing his original mix with some newfound reinforced drive. On the second track, Frankyeffe responds by warping Lieb’s original mix with a cavernous pulse fitting of his often-demonic style of melodic techno. Retaining the nostalgia of the track’s infectious hook, its retrospective charm is supported beneath the weight of Frankyeffe’s monstrous production.
