The musical background of these two guys is just very different. Everything began with an oldschool hip hop and crossover. In the middle of the 90’s they found their love for house and techhouse music. After moving on as DJ’s and having some solo releases the young and talented guys decided to create THE GLITZ in 2007. There they started with three members - but now they’re down to two now. The first EP “White Line” was a huge success. Surprisingly THE GLITZ found themselves in many DJ playlists and other electronic music charts around the world. Their follwong releases “Chatter” and “Tenga” tie in with the success of “White line”. THE GLITZ have a few releases waiting in the start blocks. So you can get ready for next singles called “Silbersee”, “Last Panther” and “Red Leaves”. Labels like Material, Ideal, Voltage Musique and Pocketgame support THE GLITZ and their kind of electronic music. The keen sense for the right sound at the right moment makes THE GLITZ not only convincing as producer but also as a DJ-Team in the clubs. People love their energetic sets, but also to see their passion behind the decks is worthwhile is the motivation of this two guys.

Coming from a diverse music background, Gina´s passion has always been the dancefloor.  As a passionate dancer before she started DJing in Berlin, then immersed herself in growing a loyal wide audience and keeping listeners on many sweet places engaged with her aesthetic of the slower side of underground dance music.

Gina is telling melodic deep stories and her devotion to the music speaks through her captivating and powerful sets. 
- But it´s all about the groove, when she’s dropping some low-tempo-deep-house-joints.

After 10 years in Germany's capital, Gina moved to her new adopted city Leipzig to start a club project with two of her best friends - ost:end is the lived utopia of many different cultural workers, curators, producers and DJ´s.

What started as an idea for a club is now a record label, a booking agency and an event collective with an incredible output. Whether it's sets, releases, live talks or events - the ost:end shapes Leipzig's club culture in its own way.

----- BESCHREIBUNG DER AUSSTELLUNG -----

 Die Einführung neuer Medien war in der Geschichte immer wieder mit weit reichenden Hoffnungen und Ängsten verbunden: Erlaubt Schrift Kommunikation über weite Distanzen, oder provoziert sie Missverständnisse und sabotiert das Erinnerungsvermögen? Hat der Buchdruck im Europa seit der frühen Neuzeit politische Umstürzen begünstigt? Verspricht das Internet Demokratisierung oder Fake News und Populismus?

Das zwiespältige Wort Apokalypse gibt diese Ambivalenz wieder: Seit der Offenbarung des Johannes, die vom Weltuntergang träumt, meint es zugleich Weltuntergang und Offenbarung. Es drückt damit Hoffnungen und Ängste, Visionen und Albträume zugleich aus. Wie Johannes vom Engel in Büchern, Bildern, Erscheinungen und Stimmen eine völlig neue Welt angekündigt wird, meinen wir heute oft an der Schwelle zu völlig neuen Wahrnehmungen und Kommunikationen zu stehen.
Umberto Eco stellte den ängstlichen Apokalyptikern bereits 1964 die passiven Integrierten gegenüber: Während erstere radikale Ängste mit der Aussicht auf mediale Umbrüche verbinden, integrieren die anderen die jüngste Medientechnologie als neue Selbstverständlichkeit in ihren Alltag – und fügen sich. Eco meint, beide Perspektiven seien gleichermaßen falsch. Stattdessen gilt es jedes Medium einzeln und in der Fülle seiner historischen Kontexte zu betrachten.

Die Ausstellung Medienapokalypsen tut genau dies. Sie wird einige der vielfältigen Widersprüche dieser kulturellen Reaktionen auf neue Medientechnologien spiegeln und in Schlaglichtern beleuchten. Die von Studierenden und Professor_innen gefüllten Vitrinen erstrecken sich von der mündlichen Singdichtung Homers bis zu den digitalen Games der Gegenwart. Dabei gilt es immer wieder den Vergleich zu heute zu ziehen: Welche Hoffnungen, welche Ängste sind jeweils im Spiel? Was war damals wirklich neu? Was ist es heute? Wie hängen Technik und Gesellschaft zusammen? Wie bewältigen Gesellschaften die Flut neuer Möglichkeiten, die Medienrevolutionen mit sich bringen?
