Not just because he is an  amazing friend that has become family but because he is a super talented DJ and selector that raises the bar for guests every time he does a set for us. No exception here. Been listening to this set on repeat since he send it to me. In his own words:

" Ya know, it's always been a massive honor to be asked to play the show, and because it feels that way, the show always seems to get the best out of me!  With this being my 5th installment for the show I consider it my Alumni mix now graduating from the previous 4 I produced over the last 4yrs.  During the course of the mix I imagined myself cruising somewhere down the west coast along the water with the top down just before sunset.  So, with a massive nod to the Salted family and a huge thank you once again to my good friend Ricardo Torres and NDYD Records, I truly hope you enjoy:)

Ricardo Torres, a West Coast DJ, is known for blending deep, soulful house and disco with a smooth, sultry West Coast vibe. His music is crafted for true dance music enthusiasts, delivering uplifting, groovy, and sexy experiences rooted in the underground scene.

Ricardo’s DJ journey began in 1987 at a college radio station in Montreal, Canada, where he initially spun industrial electronic music. By 1988, he was introduced to Chicago House and was captivated by its fresh energy, changing his musical direction. In 1995, he moved to Los Angeles, where the city’s sun-drenched, soulful vibe and influences from DJs like Jay-J, Marques Wyatt, Julius Papp, Mark Farina, and Miguel Migs drew him toward the deeper West Coast sound.

In 2000, Ricardo pioneered sharing his mixes online, a bold and innovative step that garnered him international recognition. This exposure led to global performances and opportunities, while he also became a syndicated radio host on satellite and online platforms.

Around 2016 Ricardo partnered with Germany’s Nu Disco Your Disco (NDYD), a leading advocate for the Nu Disco genre. Their collaboration birthed the NDYD Radio Show, which Ricardo hosts weekly, showcasing top global talent and steadily growing a loyal listener base. For Ricardo, Nu Disco offers a modern bridge for the soulful West Coast vibe to resonate with newer generations.

While underground music trends have evolved over the decades, Ricardo’s passion remains unwavering: playing music that inspires people to get up, dance, and celebrate the timeless groove of house music.
