For many years I have wanted to see the beauty of the Celtic Highlands. I imagine it would be wonderful. I have been inspired by the previous track ("Ginger Angel") by my friend David Dunham, in which I was able to play.
I know that David has a similar wish and he loves celtic music. Since I have come to appreciate him very much in the past, I would like to dedicate this song to him. This song is for you and "Keep Celtic", David. And please forgive my poor guitar playing. 😉 

I invite you to explore the Highlands in your mind with this track to my music.
I wish you a pleasant journey.

Composition – The Eclectic Collective

This song began its life as a hauntingly exquisite guitar chord progression that Tez came up with and shared with the rest of us. He also stacked a couple of other guitar tracks in there for good measure. 

Ken was first up, adding his drums, then later his pots and pans percussion. As he was doing that, Josh was coming up with his bass line, and they did their little dance of back and forth until the rhythm section was set. 

Mark came in around the same time, though, and added his unique, Waitsian vocals with the lyrics that he wrote for it, too. He also added some really amazing organ parts, a toy piano which you can hear right after the banjo solo, and percussion that add a solid foundation for his voice and add magic throughout the song. 

Stephen followed shortly after with the big stroke guitar chords, and also came up with the amazing banjo solo you hear in there, too. Last, but not least, JJ came in with his organ and electric piano to seal the deal with the melodies and ambience. Then he and Mark added the cool sound effects you hear throughout, too.

  Every great song needs a great producer, and Mark filled the duty on this one. He has proved himself to be a masterful editor, producer, and mixer, and we are lucky to have him as part of the team.

  This one is an homage to Tom Waits in a deliberate way. We're all big fans, and tried to do something in his unique style. We hope you enjoy listening to this as much as we enjoyed creating it.

Where the Heart Rests

The road stretched far ahead quiet and unhurried. At first it seemed endless, as though time itself had folded into repetition. The surface carried a strange shimmer, chromatic stones shifting in hue with the angle of light, sometimes dull, sometimes radiant, never quite the same. A fleeting look might dismiss it as monotony, yet in stillness you could see that there was movement everywhere: shadows sliding, colors shifting, the play of light offering transient forms and subtle changes.

So it is with life. We walk forward, often certain that each step mirrors the last, that days blur together. But if we pause and look more carefully, we find change unfolding in subtle tones, a conversation remembered, a kindness offered, a moment of stillness we hadn’t known we needed. The road may be long, but beneath its seeming sameness, it is quietly transforming, and so are we.
