This the brainchild of Aston from the Freestylers, Martin Krafty Kuts and Lee from Plump DJS.
Years of djing, working on music and generally being good friends they decided to combine forces and came up with their new act  "King Of The Beats"
The concept being all 3 of them have various styles, skill sets and such an eclectic taste that it would be a kaleidoscopic entity of good music and fun times.
As you will hear in this brand new DJ mix they’ve captured that vibe and whether you’re at home, in your car, kitchen or at the gym, it will leave you with a big smile on your face and craving for more.

King Of The Beats is starting a new night at the Arches in Brighton.  A new club called Water Bear & catch us at various clubs & Festivals around the world in the coming months !

"When Deckard reached out to us about doing a new mix for The Ripecast, he asked if we would think about doing a Jon H dedication mix. Since we’ve already seen a few Fort Knox Five themed tribute sets by various DJ’s released, we thought it would be fun to pull some older tracks that influenced our sound.  As you may or may not know, in the late 90’s and early 00’s  Jason Qdup aka Jayclue, Jon H and Steve Raskin were in a DC area DJ collective called 308 Crew. It was named after the address of the 308 house that we all used to DJ marathon afterhours sets at, and where we all honed our DJ skills together in the Pre Fort Knox Recordings days. This mix is a retrospective of a lot of late 90’s and 00’s era tracks with a few more modern surprises that we would have rocked in our earlier days DJing. Lots of these tunes were from vinyl and were some of our favorite tunes of the era. We had a blast making it and know this mix would put a huge grin on Jon H’s face." - Qdup

Originally recorded by BBC Radio 1 UK and aired on the Annie Nightingale show back in 2006 this mix showcases the diversity of well known DJ's Krafty Kuts & A Skillz. Their back to back LIVE DJ sets have become legendary and this one is no exception, recorded at the One World Snowbombing Special 2006 in a unique environment basically on top of a mountain playing all the tracks we love and know. Krafty Kuts & A.Skillz - One World Snowbombing Special 2006

So stoked that I FINALLY got around to finishing the second installment of my ’20 Years a Kid’ mixtape series! This second edition covers the years 1998 - 2000 when big beat was mutating into breaks and funk influenced music still reigned supreme. It’s one of the things I love about this era, it’s all about THE FUNK. The funkier the better! Personally I feel that’s something that’s missing a bit these days and is more than due for a comeback (watch this space 😉). For those of you who remember the legendary Globe days in Sydney then this should take you right back to the dancefloor on one of those epic nights! Hard to believe some of these tunes are 20 years old! Good music never dies it seems (or at the very least stops making you bust ‘funkies’ on the dancefloor)! Hope you dig! x

So finally after 4 years I bring to you A Golden Era of Breakbeat Volume 2.
After the overwhelming response to Volume 1 I knew that making Volume 2 was a tough challenge,  so it took a while  to make sure this mix lived up to the success of the first one. Some of the finest moments of my career have been playing Breakbeat. I feel that’s what makes this genre of music so special. I have met some of the most amazing people and experienced incredible highlights in my career.
