During DGTL Festival 2014 the founder of Stil Vor Talent, Oliver Koletzki will be laying down his deeply melodic sound that has made its mark on the global dance scene for the better part of the last decade. 'I am O.K.' reads the title of Koletzki's upcoming album. In 2014, after 26 years as a musician, he clearly achieved what he set out to do. In the spring his new album drops, he's touring the US, and then he’ll be moving the studio and office to Berlin's Holzmarkt. Hypothetically he could have a bit of a rest, but he wouldn't think of it, cause he's having way too much fun.

District One kick things off as Fenckler treats us to a real percussive workout from the start, quickly working in hypnotic synth elements. A real groove laden track, Fenckler lets the drums do the talking on this one as a solid tool 

With District Two, Fenckler goes to the roots and whips out classic 909 drum sounds as the basis for the flip side to the ep. Gradually working in each percussive element, the track builds quickly into a real powerhouse. 

Fenckler is quickly earning his stripes here at Soma as he builds his profile into one of our most profile artists.

In the final month of 2013, Ferdy Ouderkerken marked a further landmark on an illustrious career littered with original works that have found their onto such imprints as Outside The Box, Ready Mix and Armada. A regular on the imprint, Particles is delighted to announce another stopover in Ferdy's catalogue as "Crossroads Part 2" sees the welcome return of an established legend and a debutante, as two tracks from the original seven-track EP now receive 2014 makeovers.

Benoit Franquet's distinguished reputation under his Pole Folder production soubriquet is well earned. A previous winner of the "Belgium's Best DJ" crown in 2010, a veritable feast of music has found its way to the world's leading labels including Renaissance, Global Underground and Hope, supported by the leading lights of Laurent Garnier, Hernan Cattaneo and John Digweed. Indeed a debut album, commissioned to Digweed's Bedrock imprint, proved a starting point from which the Belgian has subsequently been at the vanguard of the modern underground dance scene, shaping its very future landscape. "Zero Gold" thus created a series of classic tracks that continue to be used across the TV and film spectrum to this day, from hit shows "CSI" and "Nip/Tuck" in the USA, to Channel 4 TV advertising campaigns in the UK.

A relationship with Proton that reaches back to 2006's "Protected" EP and 2008's "Radio 101", a remix of Ferdy's "Home Coming" track in September 2012, marks Pole Folder's sole contribution to the Particles imprint thus far. Now returning to remix Ferdy once more, the Belgian's interpretation of "Intention" provides another illustration of his unique vision and versatility. A rhythm section full of poise and rolling, fluid percussion keeps the pace high as soft, sustained pads echo, providing resonance with the original mix. Twisted spoken work and a reverb-soaked, harmonic vocal cut, pierce the beats as a pitched, distorted lead line builds to freeform crescendo.

From Groningen in the north of the country, techno DJ, Battage, is a much-respected DJ in his Dutch homeland. Responsible for the infamous, "Hartslag"nights, Martin ter Braake has brought such luminaries as Pan-Pot, Petar Dundov and Stephan Bodzin to his hometown. Tiring of using his Harde Baas alias, a penchant for "deep grooves and warm melodies" inspires Braake's new Battage production pseudonym. 

Approaching Ferdy's work, such traits are found in bountiful supply within his interpretation of "Agreement". A rolling clave forms an expertly formed percussive groove alongside the languid clap and snare combination combined with house beats. The emotive melodic themes present in the original are transported seamlessly into their new arrangement giving a fresh lease of life to the rousing vibrato lead that provides such a prominent aural identity.

As Ferdy's relationship with Particles reaches another "Crossroads", "Part 2" of the journey continues in triumphant optimism with new remixes from Pole Folder and Battage.

Its a bold and brave producer who takes on the task of remixing a stone-cold classic cut from the annuals of House history, but thats just what Joris Voorn, KiNK, Phil Weeks and Ambivalent have done with their fresh versions of DJ Dozia’s Ovum debut ’Pop Culture’.

Originally released back in 1998 ‘Pop Culture’ rapidly gained cult status on the underground. Created by fellow Philly resident Dozia Blakey, the raw and sparse original, at over ten minutes, was made for the dark, strobe-lit, sweat-on-walls rooms where it found favour. Backed by the equally popular Size-9 remix, ‘Pop Culture’ was, and still is, a record that never leaves the box for many. Now, with a fresh set of remixes, its set for a glorious return.

A Dj/producer from Okinawa, Japan. Now based Berlin. Iori’s musical career started up in Naha, Okinawa in the late 90′s. He went to New York in 2003, and later on headed back to Japan after serving as a project coordinator for The Loft under David Mancuso. It’s a family thing! With the Demiurgo EP we present, for the frst time, all of our current Connaisseur protagonists together on one release. Sicilian veteran dj and producer Musumeci and Malta's top dog and man behind the Cosa Nostra events - The Element - have created together two state-of-the-art cuts.

''Demiurgo''and ''Pneuma'' take inspirations from Plato and Stoic's philosophy and they both represent an experiment where The Element and Musumeci are trying to turn concepts such as 'Matter' and 'Breath of Life' into their own musical vision. The tracks have the same timeless approach with a clear structure, demanding grooves and touching, but never flamboyant melodies.

Olderic, DJ/Producer and owner of the legendary Venetian club CIRQ, gave ''Pneuma'' a proper remix treatment and created the most epic track of the release. A hypnotic and very cleverly constructed weapon, this is sure to be a killer on any dancefoor.

Second remix is by our dear Lehar. We are still speechless about how amazingly his profle has developed in recent months. His version of Demirugo is an alluring affair. Typical Lehar’ish melodies dominate this dreamy interpretation which is the perfect round-up of this release.

His “Alma EP” released on Compost Black in 2015 as well as his recent remix for Musumeci & The Element and a soon to be released collaboration with Peter Pardeike (both for Connaisseur) are state of the art house music and received support by the likes of Mano Le Tough, Âme, Laurent Garnier, Tale Of Us or Ewan Pearson to name a few. "Black Sunrise“ by Francesco Chiocci feat. Black Soda, was one of the highlights of our last edition of Livingroom Techno. When we heard the track for the frst time, we knew right away that it endears itself to remixers due to the haunting vocals by Black Soda from Cape Town.
The result is a full on family affair: Olderic, Lehar, Musumeci and Peter Pardeike have interpreted "Black Sunrise“ and although each of them has created his own trip, all of them are genuinely "The Sound of Connaisseur“.

Olderic’s version preaches the peak-time open-air moment with some proper pathos on top.

Lehar’s remix on the other hand takes the middle course between catchiness and abstract soundscapes, delivering a very unique interpretation.

Musumeci has created a deep house builder in the manner of Atjazz or Charles Webster, timeless to the bone.

And last but not least, Peter Pardeike declares his love to Afro-Beat with his version.
More summer simply isn’t possible!

E&P is the new project of Edmond Weinfeld aka Ed Ed and Petja Virikko. The duo had a certain idea to produce an afterhours tune with emotional content. The result is a cooperation with Jinadu from London who changes his game and delivers a westcoast style vocal which is much deeper then his usual vocals. The lyrics describes a past relationship that still lingers in your head although its long gone. The beats and music frame in this deep melodic tune that will lighten up any afterhour event that it gets to be played.

About the Release :
The Cologne/Berlin based duo return to their Superfriends Records home once again for ‘Huso EP’.

Climbing to uncharted heights of dance-music popularity, Andhim have been releasing their distinguished style of sample-heavy ‘Super House’ since 2010, reaching the ears of the masses on some of the most celebrated labels around.

Demonstrating the pair’s eclectic and distinctly musical production style, ‘Huso’ kicks off the EP with Eastern-flavored melodies, soaring synths and low-slung drums that inject a momentum certain to ignite any dancefloor the track comes into contact with.
