 Laima Adelaide is a Stuttgart-based artist and label founder of Predawn Records together with Nils Edte. She studied classical composition at the University of Music and the Performing Arts in Stuttgart. Her sound signature is unique, both minimalist and pure, with impeccable sound design and an aesthetic close to the Bauhaus school. Through subtle frequencies and the use of poly-rhythms, Laima Adelaide proposes a vision of a macroscopic or molecular world, where atoms collide and the space between electronic music and natural space dissipates. 

Welcome to this hour of perfect mix, between deep techno, organic and hypnotic, just close your eyes and let yourself be caught in a beneficial and protective darkness.

Accents Podcast Series #08 - LAIMA ADELAIDE

Jordi, aka Llupe, and Nico, aka DJ Aficionado, share quite a few things in common: Catalan origins, a love for all things Balearic, the same street in Berlin and shows on Refuge Worldwide. They both certainly appreciate a good party, too.

Organizing parties and playing together was a natural direction for them. Their party series, Orbita, launched earlier this year, aims to create ample space for quality adult dance music. It seems to be working well, as they’ve been fortunate to host guests like Apiento, Tom of England, and Sianza, to name a few.

This mix is a recording from the last Orbita party, held at Fitzroy on what many described as the last day of summer in Berlin. For those who remember, it was a dreamy and sensual Sunday, filled with music that sounded just right in that room. It felt nice and cosy and the dancers seemed to be momentarily free from any kind of Monday angst. Playful and light, yet seriously good. Feel the magic, times two.

For this Hunter’s Moon in Aries Soria has cooked up something seductive. Equal parts deep, bumping and dreamy, moving through ambient, house and dub techno, Soria's mix is inspired by the main character from "A Spy in the House of Love" by Anais Nin. Here the protagonist bathes at night in moonlight as one would in the sun, cultivating a power from its rays which pulls in and frightens the other characters around her. A reminder of the strength we have when we allow ourselves access to our own sensuality.

We got introduced to his music through a couple of tracks he released with Dorisburg on Tikita. The Moroccan label might be one of the most refreshing upcoming labels if you ask us. Endless ways. The dazzling spines rise high and can be seen very well in the fog. In the buzzing haze your heart speaks the same language as our blue eyes. Abstract forms accompany your steps and float energetically around. In the distance I see others who are not like me. They walk in a different direction. But I hurry on full of joy. Have you seduced me so much? 

The young artist Willy Parker ist based near Frankfurt. His love for drone, ethereal and dark-driving sounds raised rapidly and soon he started to produce his own beats. His joy in experimenting is just as big, which is why the genres Ambient and Experimental did not remain undiscovered for long. Willy and his partner created the art and music label SOPTIK. Definately one to watch. Enjoy his vision.

What strange times we find ourselves in, friends. It feels like the world was a different place when we published the last episode of our podcast — just one month ago. Akuma, who was born in Heidelberg and lives in Mannheim, stands for the symbiosis of groovy, mystical, sentimental and aggressive sound, which he has established in the local scene for quite some time with his collective "Raserei" and as "This is Techno"-Gotec Club resident.

His selection ranges from synth- and percussion-based grooves to ruthlessly driving industrial techno and melancholic passages, breakbeats, always carried by rousing, captivating rhythms and enmeshed by dark atmospheres.
