Presenting a live improvised performance from the Argentinian producer and multi-instrumental live looper, Janax Pacha. Spearheaded by Gabriel Epstein, the Janax Pacha project sits at the crossroads of acoustic and electronic expression, utilising instruments such as Native flutes, kalimbas, didgeridoo, percussion, and effect racks. The resulting tribal downtempo sound is inspired as much from dub and ambient music, as it is by ancestral indigenous music of Latin America, building layers upon layers of sound, and compounding numerous centuries of culture into one experience.

Open Into Flame
 is a meditation, a prayer and a dance for personal and collective transformation. For the past month, I have been immersed in smoke from fires burning in the mountains to surrounding my home and from the hundreds of others burning nearby here in the Pacific Northwest of Canada/USA. The burning of entire towns, homes and livelihoods has moved me into tears and into deep reflection. What is our Earth Mother asking of us in this time? This music was chosen to tell the story of my own journey into this question. It's an invitation to open into your own flame and to support releasing, transforming and welcoming new beginnings. As Bība shares so eloquently in this mix, “It’s time for a change of skin. This shedding is underway. Snake shows us that this shedding is by fire. The skin burning away is a skin full of injustices, anger and violence. [The fire] is symbolic of moving away from the old ways and making way for the new. In these flames, our anger can now be seen, our shadow revealed by the glowing light. And in this fire now, it’s time to heal. At this time of great shedding, an energy channel is open- a line of light. This line of light is our lineage. Our path to awakening. This energy is open to all beings on earth to come into alignment with the unfolding mystery of our individual and collective evolution.”

Soft Earth 🌱 Soundtrack for Grounding and Blooming

The legend of South America's music is one of vibrant rhythms, passionate melodies, and diverse cultural influences. It's is a celebration of life. The music is also shaped by its indigenous roots, with traditional instruments like the charango, quena, and bombo adding unique textures to it. 
It is said that the music originated from the indigenous people of the Andes, who used it as a way to express their culture and traditions. The legend goes that the music was inspired by the natural sounds of the Andean landscape, including the wind, the rain, and the flowing rivers.

One of the most famous Andean instruments is the pan flute, which is said to have been created by the god Wiracocha. According to legend, Wiracocha made the first pan flute out of the bones of his dead children, and the music that came from it was so beautiful that it could bring the dead back to life.

Today, Andean music is still celebrated and enjoyed throughout South America and beyond. Its haunting melodies and intricate rhythms continue to captivate listeners and serve as a reminder of the rich cultural heritage of the Andean people. Especially because the music continues to thrive, with new generations of artists blending traditional sounds with modern influences to create exciting new styles. Landing back in Germany, my heart and spirit are asking directly again for South and Central America. So I felt I have to share the beautiful vibe of the music which inspired me a lot while traveling through so many countries. It's a beautiful downtempo journey which I hope will sweeten up your upcoming summer! Dreaming the Dream at Dreamersland!!! This cacao-infused festival in Poland was as special as it sounds. Shared a lineup with Porangui, Ape Chimba, Estas Tonne, Janax Pacha and many other magical-music-makers. This was the first of two Apukuna sessions… an evening silent disco with a delicious opening of Iyakuh & Helen Knight's ‘Mamacoca’ infused with Maywa and Kora and followed by the angelic root chakra frequencies of Skysia and Sommer Love's ‘We Are Light’.
