VUKS - Raumfänger, Pt. 1

Under the full moon’s silver gaze, a tribe gathers to awaken the ancient pulse. As their ritual unfolds a portal opens, spiraling into hypnotic rhythm and luminous trance. Guided by Avsluta, the dance deepens, sound shapes presence and time dissolves into iridescent echoes.

Avsluta is a London-based sound artist, DJ, live performer, and event curator navigating the liminal spaces between ambient and dance music. As a DJ and producer, her work navigates both listening and dance realms, fluidly moving in between chill-out rooms, clubs and festival dancefloors. Tuning into the energy of the people and spaces, her performances are fuelled by dialog, intuition and improvisation, drawing on influences across deep techno, psychedelic bass music, dub, downtempo and a broad spectrum of ambient music. Avsluta is a resident of Above Below festival and made appearances at the likes of La Nature, O.Z.O.R.A., Mostra, Lunchmeat Festival, Waking Life, Ankali and Cafe OTO among other. She is also the founder of Introspective Electronics, an ambient and downtempo platform that hosts regular radio shows, guest podcast series, and intimate listening events.

Avsluta's mix for this edition is a tribute to tribalistic rhythms that unfold a hypnotic appeal of immense, ritualistic power. Combined with massive, moving basslines and trippy, headstrong toppings, this piece is a very special sonic treat that will draw you deep into the cosmic vortex.

Every year, Alfonso, the artistic director of Mostra, hides a few cards up his sleeve, and this time one of them was DjSport. Closing the Friday program at Fabra i Coats is never random, it’s a statement, and by the time her halftime pulse began rolling through the space, we all knew why she was there. The groove was elastic, full of tension that never broke until she decided it should. Then came the shift: precision turning into pressure, tempo climbing until Fabra felt like a steam room. Just when it seemed ready to tip into chaos, she had her “hold my beer” moment, controlled detonation, a sudden swerve into broken, bass-heavy terrain that felt like opening a window mid-storm. From there on, it was cruise control, the kind that hums with energy yet never loses composure.

Mauritius-born and now based in Barcelona, DjSport carries that balance of warmth and unpredictability wherever she plays. Her debut at Mostra was the kind that makes you trust Alfonso’s instincts even more, those mysterious names on the poster that end up defining the memory.

That’s why we hold this session called Baptistery, an after-hours experience focused on verticality and danceable rhythms, but always from a very personal and artistic perspective of each guest artist. Con “If You Need Me”, Benja Molina firma uno de los cortes más sólidos de su nuevo EP en UNIVACK, un lanzamiento que vuelve a confirmar por qué el productor español se ha convertido en una de las figuras clave del Progressive House internacional. El track muestra con claridad su enfoque actual: líneas melódicas diseñadas para club, un trabajo rítmico preciso y una identidad sonora que se ha vuelto plenamente reconocible dentro de la escena.

En contraste con el golpe emocional de “Small Town Night” y el pulso atmosférico de “Atacama”, este tercer corte despliega una narrativa más directa y funcional, pensada para sets que necesitan equilibrio entre energía, profundidad y continuidad. Molina trabaja aquí con un control absoluto sobre la tensión melódica, entregando un track que funciona tanto en warm-ups expansivos como en momentos de progresión avanzada.

Respaldado ya por referentes como Hernán Cattáneo en Resident, Molina continúa demostrando que su evolución no es circunstancial, sino consecuencia de una visión artística madura y consistente. “If You Need Me” refuerza ese camino: un track pulido, efectivo y perfectamente alineado con el sonido actual del género.
