This is my first time releasing an album. I'm looking to professionalize it because i'll admit the recording quality is not the best. I am a solo act with nothing but an acoustic guitar, and a loop station used on this album. My early influences were Slash, SRV, Angus Young, Albert King, Jimmy Page, Jimi Hendrix, and bands like Cake, the Rolling Stones, the Beatles, the Who, etc. By the time I started really writing my own stuff, I learned from Jack Johnson, Ben Harper, James Taylor, Chris Smither, and groups like the Dirty Heads, Rebellution, Twiddle, and Passafire. This album, worts and all, is raw, folky, funky, and bluesy with lyrical density and flow of hip hop.

This track is about keeping steady amidst whatever might happen in the world. Loss, gain, divorce, new love, petty arguments, annoying people, a job that isn't satisfying, sore feet, political madness, consumerism, greed, etc. You get the point. Any number of things, big or small, can destroy one's happiness. I wrote this song to solidify my stand as the master of my own life, but it turned out to fit just as well as an anthem for the modern age, as we find ourselves amidst a rate of change faster than ever occurred. Keeping the mind stable and happy is key to the art of life.

Life By My Design

This is a love song I wrote for my partner, saying the things she should know about how I feel. I had a blast rhythmically with this one and it's one of my favorites, (and the crowd's) to play live. Hope you enjoy it as much as we do!

You Should Know

This song has undergone several incarnations. Recently, I scrapped everything except the lyrics and the key. I had written this song in Sardinia in 2017 and at the time, had no loop station. I felt so strongly that this is a great song lyrically but musically it never sat well with me until this current version. 

This song is a reminder to not forget that you are loved, valued, appreciated, and cared for even in those times when you feel alone, or like no one is there because no one is PHYSICALLY there. The yogis say that we suffer when we forget our true nature, and the fact that we are always connected to each other through a vastly intricate web interwoven events throughout time.  Remember your nature. You're never alone.

The more i play and refine my sound, the simpler things get.  Simpler meaning there's no other instrumentation in this. Just a solo acoustic piece. I find that less is more and it's a joy to reach new levels of expression on the guitar. I'm even happier to get to share it for you to enjoy.

Stargate

These lyrics are about my battle with addiction, namely to nicotine at this point. The turmoil caused by the withdrawal is the crack in the looking glass. In yoga, pain and misery are most often matters of perception. Then comes the need to do the work to cleanse or repair the lens through which we perceive the world. First step: sit with it.
