ambient spring 2025

This track was inspired by the Neal Stephenson novel, “SEVENEVES.”  I envisioned an ark filled with the last remnants of humanity on a journey between the stars in search of a new beginning. 

I tried to create sounds to represent what I envisioned interstellar travelers would experience on this ark while traveling through empty space, between the stars, after several generations have already come and gone on their journey.

Between The Stars

This month, we are delighted to welcome Vinsen, based in The Hague, to our series. Slowly and steadily, he’s been crafting a musical realm that drifts between heartwarming melodies, textured soundscapes, and subtle grooves. His mixes and DJ sets reflect a deep passion for storytelling, drawing inspiration from fantasy worlds, sci-fi books, and the everyday beauty of life in his city.

This particular mix was recorded mostly at the enchanting Above Below festival in the UK, surrounded by rolling hills, a gentle brook, blooming trees, and birdsong—a setting that felt straight out of a fairytale. Inspired by the magic of the landscape, Vinsen brought that dreamy atmosphere to The Coombe, the festival’s special ambient stage. The final version has been subtly adapted for a more intimate and conscious listening experience at home.

Yash is a DJ whose musical boundaries are not well maintained. On The Low End Radio --- broadcasted on Radio Nul (twitch.tv/radio_nul) and Intergalactic FM (intergalactic.fm) on Wednesdays from 2000-2130 CET --- he showcases his variety. Ranging from not ordinary house and techno, deep space and driving electro, pounding or sophisticated acid bangers to soundtracks and exerimental electronics and contemporary classical.
