This is a song that was written by the very talented Artur (Surfers Like Us), who is a surf rock master, and delivered to us in the form of a guitar track. Josh (Entheogenic Psychonaught) enjoyed adding the psychedelic, yet foundational four string fretless bass. Ken (K2 and the Three and K2 and the Four) boosted the energy level of the song when he blew our minds with his driving drums. JJ (J.J. Terrell) added the wild, dynamic organ you hear throughout. Tez (Llanpsych) brought lightning down from the sky in the solo over the third section. And last, but certainly not least, Stephen (TexMex Shaman) laid down the mind-bending guitar solos over the first two sections. He also produced and mixed it, with a little help from Ken. We hope you enjoy listening to it as much as our Eclectic Collective enjoyed making it.

  This is a song that began as a drum track that Ken came up initially as a beat for another SoundCloud user, who respectfully declined it. Instead of letting a solid go to waste, Ken set it loose with JJ and Josh, who came up with an arrangement for the music over top of what they felt was a very killer beat. What was originally a jam, turned into a showcase of the entire Eclectic Collective. Josh also did some guitar work in this one, and with Stephen's brilliant harmony, came up with the opening theme that reoccurs about halfway through. His guitar can also be heard briefly right after the opening theme. Along with Stephen's other half of the theme, he is also responsible for the dynamic, climactic leads through most of it. Tez added his incendiary guitar to the final section, when all else was said and done, as a cherry on top. After all the tracks were in the digital can, we were lucky enough to have Stephen produce and mix it for us. 
  We hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving and are looking forward to the winter holidays. We also hope you enjoy this ride as much as we enjoyed assembling

"Ein Balken Leben"
Ich habe gelernt, nichts zu verpassen, wenn ich nichts tue. Die Sonne spielt Tetris durch die Ritzen des Bauwagens, der Kater liegt wie eine Gedankenpause neben mir, und mein Herz schlägt im Takt der Ruhe. Das Naturschutzgebiet lockt mit Wegen, Schilf und Möglichkeiten. Doch meine Füße haben keinen Plan. Sie wollen heute nur Boden spüren.
Neben mir der Kater Murschel, halb Traum, halb Tier. Er schnurrt, als hätte er verstanden, dass Stille kein Mangel ist, sondern ein Geschenk. Ich strecke meine Beine aus – zwischen rostigen Werkzeugen und wuchernden Gräsern. Der Tag ist kein Projekt. Er ist ein Zustand.
Es riecht nach Holz, das nie ganz trocken wird. Nach Leben, das im Leerlauf schnurrt. In der Ferne hämmert jemand. Ich höre es wie einen Satz, der mich nicht betrifft. Mein Kopf wandert durch Gedanken wie durch Nebel – alles sanft, nichts drängend.
Vielleicht ist der Bauwagenplatz ein Abenteuer. Aber nicht im klassischen Sinn. Hier gibt es keine Heldenreise, sondern Heimkehr. Zwischen verwilderten Wegen und rostenden Nägeln liegt die Freiheit, nicht entscheiden zu müssen.
Die Welt da draußen will etwas von mir. Dieser Ort will gar nichts – und genau deshalb bleibt er.
Ich streichle Murschels Fell, langsam, so als gäbe es kein Morgen, weil der heutige Tag genug ist.
„Ein Balken Leben“
Manchmal frage ich mich, wie viel Welt in einem einzigen Internetbalken steckt. Er flimmert oben rechts auf dem kleinen Bildschirm, nicht als Luxus, sondern als stille Sicherheitsleine. Kein Smartphone. Kein endloses Scrollen. Nur dieser eine Balken, der im Notfall mein Leben regelt – wie ein elektrischer Engel, der keine Flügel, aber Empfang hat.
Ich sitze draußen vor dem Bauwagen, Murschel neben mir. Er schnurrt nicht, er atmet. Die Sonne steht schräg, als hätte sie beschlossen, heute nicht ganz pünktlich zu sein. Der Kiefernwald um uns herum wispert leise – Nadeln bewegen sich wie Gedanken, die keiner ausspricht. In der Ferne: eine Amsel, die viel zu philosophisch klingt für einen Vogel. Ich höre sie trotzdem.
Der Tag beginnt nicht mit einem „Müssen“, sondern mit einem „Was wäre schön?“. Heute: Radfahren. Einkaufen. Vorteilkauf.
Ich schließe das Tor zum Gelände, schiebe mein Rad an den rostenden Metallskulpturen vorbei, die kein Künstler je signiert hat. Es geht hinein in den Wald – die Luft schmeckt nach harzigem Altglas, die Reifen gleiten über unebenes Leben. Die Strecke ist vertraut, aber nie langweilig. Links moosiger Verfall, rechts ein Feld, das wie ein Gedanke in voller Blüte liegt. Und dann, völlig unvermittelt: der Betonklotz.
Vorteilkauf.
Ein Baukörper ohne Charme, aber mit Trost. Die Buchstaben lachen nicht, aber sie sprechen. Innen: Menschen, die sich ihren Alltag zusammenstellen, Stück für Stück. Es riecht nach Brot, Waschmittel und billigem Gemüse. Ich kaufe nicht für Vorräte – ich kaufe für heute. Ein bisschen Paprika, etwas Hüttenkäse, Kräuter, wenn sie nicht welk sind. Der Tag hat Geschmack.
Zurück geht es langsamer. Das Rad wirkt schwerer, aber nicht wegen der Einkäufe. Der Weg ist ein stiller Refrain. Ich summe leise eine Melodie, die noch keinen Namen hat. Wieder Feld, wieder Kiefern, wieder diese Ruhe, die nicht gefordert, sondern gefunden wird.
Murschel wartet bereits. So, als hätte er geahnt, dass ich heute Dill mitbringe. Ich koche. Nicht aufwendig. Einfach. Die Pfanne knistert, als wolle sie mich begrüßen. Ich rede mit dem Essen, nicht weil ich verrückt bin, sondern weil niemand zuhören muss.
Dann essen wir. Murschel bekommt ein paar Bröckchen, die nicht vorgesehen waren. Der Abend schleicht sich nicht – er kündigt sich mit Farben an. Bronze, Lavendel, müdes Gelb. Ich spüle ab und setze mich mit einem Tee draußen auf die Holzpalette, die längst ein Möbelstück geworden ist.
Der Internetbalken blinkt einmal. Ich atme tief. Mehr brauche ich nicht.
Vielleicht ist Ruhe keine Entscheidung, sondern ein Ort. Und ich bin da. Ganz....)
