Since 2006, Nebulo has been shaping electronic structures with mobile geometries. In his latest releases for Le Cabanon Records and Conditional, the French composer deepened his work on dynamics by modelling abrupt trajectories where silence clashed with synthetic saturations. For Borders, Nebulo chose to exploit the static temporality of repeated confinements to approach an encompassing musical universe.

Gary Genosko joined Cooper and Taylor this week to discuss a little about the trajectory of his work from Baudrillard to Guattari with a critical eye towards the future. Asignification is the refrain.

Dr. Genosko works on communication and cultural theory, subcultures in the digital underground, and whistle-blowers. His philosophical interests includes the philosophy of Félix Guattari. Post-media, communication modelling, critical semiotics, and media ecology play important roles in his writing.

Alexandra Spence’s work explores earth’s material relationship with space via satellite disposal and debris, and the uncanny historic connections between electronic music and space exploration. Travelling through orbits, life cycles and transmissions, Stellar Nullius reconsiders the earth’s atmosphere, not as a liminal zone, but as a provisioning body whose wellbeing is deeply intertwined with our own. 

Alexandra Spence is a sound artist/musician based in Eora (Sydney). Through her practice Alexandra reimagines the intricate relationships between the listener, the object, and the surrounding environment as a kind of communion or conversation. She has presented her work worldwide and released music with Room40, Longform Editions, MoreMars (with MP Hopkins), Canti Magnetici, and Mappa. On her first solo lp, Roxane Métayer fully explores the sonic possibilities of the violin, field recordings and folk oriented orchestration and melodies. The violin is often taken the melodic lead, but at the same time serves a drone background, but just as much a percussion instrument. In any case: the focus is definately on the sound itself. She’s not afraid to use effects, minimal percussion, whistles and the occasional hushed vocal to expand the sonic palette to a maximum effect, resulting in multilayered, semi-improvised meanderings, gently evolving around a tight core.
