This is one of my 'lounge series' acoustic thingies.  A simple one-take song/story for voice and piano.

Then I notice that you’re crying, in a small and subtle way
But there’s no way in to hold you, so I have to walk away
And I realise your pain now, the parts of me you heard
had to drown me out, had to knock me down, you couldn’t bear my words

And it’s all over now, the phone keeps ringing
and there’s really nothing left for us to say
it’s all over now, I watch you as you turn and walk away

Written and recorded to 8 track tape then mixed straight onto cd around 2009.

The drum percussion sound, because I didnt have a kit back then, was created by using crusty old paint brushes on a textured vinyl album cover. If I recall, it was the Eagles greatest hits. Where theres a will, theres a way.......
