In the hush of cracked walls and faded paint,
Where your voice once carved lessons into the silence,
I stand, a shadow of the boy you raised, (Raised)
Grasping at fragments that crumble like brittle leaves.

Your hands, weathered by a lifetime of unspoken sacrifices,
Mapped the edges of strength and tenderness,
Now their absence presses hard against my chest, (My Chest)
A weight I carry with every breath I take.

By the lake, where the dawn whispered promises,
You taught me how to find stillness amidst the storm,
Now I skim my hand across waters that cannot hold you,
Reaching for a reflection that was stolen by time. (Whisper: No time)

The years unraveled too quickly, threads pulled loose by the wind,
Taking with them the moments I didn’t know I’d need,
I grew taller under your gaze, but now I bend beneath your absence,
Alone under a moon that offers no answers.

But I have finally realized something,
Something... that stings more than I can bear to admit...
I have only known you for a fraction of your life,

A time will come,
And alone, you shall be,
Afraid of what is,
And all that has left you.

You will shed tears…
And fall, they may,
Yet in their trail,
The truth will stay.

You’ll reach for ghosts,
Where laughter once was,
Hands gripped to nothing,
But the pain of their absence.

From the love made,
A sorrow will root deep,
And from that seed,
The ache will surely grow.

Thorned to your heart,
Turning every wound into a pulse,
You’ll taste the salt,
Weight pressing against your ribs.
