Aggelos Baltas is a veteran of the global electronic music scene, responsible for a handful of celebrated EBM 12”s as Dream Weapons, and a particularly heady and open-ended brand of krautrock as Fantastikoi Hxoi. His newest project, Anatolian Weapons, was conceived as a way to bring together these two seemingly mismatched concepts, with the polyrhythmic percussion and wailing tones of Greek folk music serving as their unlikely bonding.

Beyond The Struttosphere is a sonic collaboration between two London-based DJs combining their considerable musical production experience with an insatiable passion for cosmic chugging dark disco. 

The cosmonauts embark on their most ambitious journey yet with the release of ‘Odyssey-10’ on Emerald & Doreen records. True to its name, the lead track evokes an epic space voyage propelled by driving arpeggiators, chunky layered percussion, high-octane guitar hits and the signature BTS chug bassline. The tune progresses into a tectonic breakdown heightened by spacey Juno chords before launching into a dynamite crescendo that burns contrails through the atmosphere. Remixes are provided by two bastions of the scene: Mexican dark wave star Vongold introduces lustful celestial vocals into the mix, dialling down the tempo, and repurposing the track into a post-punk acid chugger that takes no prisoners. French dark disco connoisseur Badknife applies his masterful touch with a second remix, cranking up the throb and deploying interstellar synth arrangements that will have you reaching for your seatbelt. 

The duo venture into uncharted territory with ‘Satellite Cities’, a collaboration with cosmic queen Miss Zagato. Undoubtedly their funkiest production to date, this galactic chugger is a hypnotic blend of funky guitar plucks, electrifying stabs and groovy riffs, underpinned by Miss Zagato’s intoxicating lyrics that transport you to the moon in a hypersonic X-15. Building in momentum and complexity, the track climaxes with a mesmerising vocal chorus, elevated by cosmic synth melodies and a resonating mid-range bass that will echo for aeons to come. The original is backed by a sublime remix from Spanish electronic virtuoso, Ivan Fabra, whose take re-imagines the track as a pulsating Balearic dancefloor anthem loaded with powerful drums and ethereal pads that melt into the sunset. 

The EP concludes with ‘Storming Heaven’, a sonically charged acid trip that adventures through the cosmos, guided by a weighty chugging bass, a psychedelic 303 line, tripped out guitar chords and an array of cosmic FX. The tune traverses two mystical breakdowns before ascending into stratospheric planes with a euphoric synth sequence and a staggering guitar solo courtesy of long-time BTS collaborator Stannard Procedure. We are excited to present the first release of 2025 on Melómana Records. The Murcian duo Jeff Mental, composed of Pastore and David MK, returns with a strong presence on the electronic scene with their highly anticipated EP titled TooDiscoo. These musicians, DJs, and producers, who seamlessly blend their roots in punk, rock, and pop with the sophistication of electronic music, have revolutionized the Levantine underground scene thanks to their unique and versatile style. TooDiscoo captures the essence of Jeff Mental with two original tracks that combine elements of funk, soul, and disco, resulting in a vibrant and fresh sound. Their ability to create a broad sonic universe, with Anglo-Saxon influences and a refined electronic base, has established them as an emerging reference in electronic music.

The EP doesn’t come alone but is accompanied by two remixes that take the project to the next level. The first remix, by Chilean producer JGR, renowned for his fresh and sophisticated style, reinterprets the track TooDisco with a more house-oriented approach, adding deep touches and infectious energy, perfect for the dance floor. The remix of I’m Done With You, Honey is delivered by Lebollet, the Cordobese artist who infuses the track with his underground and garage style. His reinterpretation retains the soul and disco essence of the original while adding psychedelic layers that give it an unparalleled personality.

The Barcelona-based Spanish artist Syd dePalma returns to Rotten City with a new track, following his dazzling EP Blanco Sombra (RCF040, 2023). Beneno delves into existential duality and how, amidst chaos, unexpected clarity can emerge.

The lyrics play with the feeling of being and not being at the same time, of getting lost in confusion yet finding something valuable in the process. A key phrase captures this idea: "Aquí no estoy, no desperté; allí sí estoy y ya bailé" ("Here I am not, I didn’t wake; there I am, and I’ve already danced"), summarizing the concept of transformation and movement, even when everything seems dark. It’s a balance between the ethereal and the visceral, blending post-punk elements like profound guitars and heavy basslines with synthesizers that bring light and an almost hopeful energy. It feels like walking through a dark night, but with guiding flashes of light. A perfect soundtrack for an intimate space or for dancing in a club during the early hours of the morning.

The release is complemented by a remix from Argentinian producer Julian Sanza, based in Bogotá. Resident of Kaputt Club and member of legendary projects like Silver City, Ciudad Feliz, and 2020 Vision Soundsystem, Sanza transforms the original into a Cosmic Disco odyssey, a signature style that adds a fully “DJ-friendly” touch for the dancefloor.

Airsine’s long-standing legacy of crafting immersive, slow-burn psychedelia finds a fresh pulse in “Like Fire”, their debut release on Paisley Dark Records. This four-track EP channels the raw energy of underground dance culture, weaving hypnotic acid grooves with a meditative, low-slung tempo. Designed for dimly lit, after-hours spaces, the project feels like a sonic homage to the fleeting connections and shared euphoria of clandestine dance floors. Layers of throbbing basslines and mechanical funk rhythms anchor the release, while spiraling synth lines evoke a sense of timelessness – a nod to the collective memories of nights where music outlasted the sunrise. On the remix duties, none other than by Mindbender, The Machine Soul, and A Space Age Freak Out (SXDNS123). 

Premiered here, The Machine Soul’s rework stands out as a luminous counterpoint to the EP’s shadowy core. Retaining the original’s pulsating heartbeat, the mix introduces sunlit textures and ethereal chord progressions that stretch the track into a radiant, sunrise-ready anthem. The once-murky bassline is softened with warm, melodic undertones, while cascading arpeggios add a celestial lift. This version feels less like a club tool and more like a cathartic journey – balancing Airsine’s brooding intensity with a newfound optimism.
