The Democratic People's Republic of Korea, also known as North Korea, is a country in East Asia that encompasses the northern part of the Korean Peninsula, bordering South Korea to the south along the Demilitarized Zone, and China and Russia to the north along the Amnok and Duman Rivers. The country's capital and largest city is Pyongyang. Other major cities include Nampo, Kaesong, and Rason. Like South Korea, North Korea claims to be the sole legitimate government of Korea.

North Korea is constitutionally a socialist one-party state ruled by the Democratic Front for the Reunification of the Fatherland under the leadership of the Workers' Party of Korea. The government system is described as totalitarian by human rights organizations and governments of other countries.

The country's first head of state, Kim Il-sung, used the Korean War and the August Incident to eliminate his political opponents and consolidate his power. After his death, his descendants, Kim Jong-il and Kim Jong-un, continued his tyranny and also adopted his personality cult. It is considered one of the most restrictive internationally recognized states of the present day. In various democracy scales, the country has consistently ranked among the lowest since measurements began. The government has been criticized worldwide for serious human rights violations, and the country is largely isolated internationally.

The Korean Peninsula has been inhabited by humans since the Lower Paleolithic period, and the first settlements date back to the Neolithic period. The first records of statehood appear in the 7th century BC. After the unification of the Three Kingdoms of Korea by Silla and Balhae, Korea was ruled by the Goryeo Dynasty (918–1392) and the Joseon Dynasty (1392–1897). The subsequent Empire of Korea was annexed by Japan in 1910. After the end of the Japanese occupation and Japan's surrender in World War II, Korea was divided into two occupation zones by the Soviet Union and the United States. Attempts at unification failed, and the division hardened along political lines. The Korean War (1950 to 1953) sealed the division of the Korean Peninsula (see Korean Conflict).

Liechtenstein is a landlocked country in the Alpine region of Central Europe and the sixth-smallest country in the world. According to its constitution, it is a principality organized as a constitutional hereditary monarchy on a democratic-parliamentary basis. The House of Liechtenstein provides the sovereign; sovereignty is shared equally between the sovereign and the people.

The Alpine Rhine forms the border between the Alpine countries of Liechtenstein and Switzerland in the west; to the east, the principality borders Austria. The state is divided into two electoral districts and eleven municipalities. The capital and princely seat is Vaduz. The largest town in terms of area is Triesenberg, and the most populous is Schaan. The merged towns of Schaan, Vaduz, and Triesen together form an agglomeration with approximately 17,300 inhabitants. The heavily cultivated north (Unterland) and the less cultivated south (Oberland) characterize the landscape of the principality.

With 40,032 inhabitants, Liechtenstein is the smallest state in the German-speaking world. The official language is German (more details below). The Liechtenstein dialects spoken in everyday life belong to the Alemannic dialect. The proportion of foreigners is approximately 34 percent.

The principality, founded in 1719, was an immediate territory of the Holy Roman Empire until 1806. It subsequently became a member of the Confederation of the Rhine and, from 1815, of the German Confederation, thus gaining sovereignty. Due to the princes' ties to the Habsburg monarchy, Liechtenstein aligned itself with Austria until 1919. Since 1923, the country has been closely linked administratively and economically with neighboring Switzerland through a customs treaty. At that time, the Swiss franc was also introduced as Liechtenstein's currency. These steps had a very positive economic impact, but Liechtenstein's strong economic recovery only began after the Second World War.

Liechtenstein has one of the highest industrial production rates in the world, with approximately 41 percent of gross value added coming from industry and manufacturing.

Like Switzerland, Liechtenstein is a member of the United Nations (UN) and the European Free Trade Association (EFTA), but not of the European Union (EU); unlike Switzerland, Liechtenstein is a member of the European Economic Area (EEA).

Syria is a state in the Middle East and part of the Mashreq. Syria borders Israel and Jordan to the south, Lebanon and the Mediterranean to the west, Türkiye to the north and Iraq to the east. At around 185,000 km², Syria is about half the size of Germany. However, due to the civil war and its ongoing political and social upheaval, Syria no longer exists today as a cohesive, sovereign state.

More than 22 million people live in the country, mostly Sunni Muslims, but also a large number of other religious minorities such as Alawites, Druze and Christians. Before the civil war broke out, the most populous cities were Aleppo, Damascus, Homs, Hama and Latakia. There are eight state and several private universities in the country, including the German-Syrian Wadi International University. Agriculture, the extraction and export of oil as well as the production of textiles and food are important economically for Syria. However, economic performance collapsed sharply due to the civil war, and the Syrian lira was temporarily subject to strong inflation.

The 63 B.C. The Roman province of Syria, founded in 634 BC, was rich and important; after Islamization began in 634, the area alternated between claims to power. The Syrian Republic was first founded in 1930 and became independent in 1946. After a coup in 1963, the Arab socialist Baath Party ruled the country in a dictatorial and totalitarian manner, with a member of the al-Assad family at the helm from 1971 onwards. Under their rule, there were numerous violations of human rights in Syria, which were internationally condemned. As of 2003, Syria was the last remaining Ba'athist state, as the other government in Iraq had been militarily overthrown by an invasion by a US-led coalition. Unlike other Arab dictatorships (e.g. in Iraq and Libya), which originally had an ambivalent relationship with the West, the regime in Syria had already sought political proximity to important and powerful allies during the Cold War, especially Russia, Iran and China and North Korea, which maintained and guaranteed its power politically and militarily. In December 2024, President Bashar al-Assad was exiled to Moscow and resigned from office.

Angola is a country in southwest Africa. Its national holiday is November 11, the anniversary of its independence in 1975. Angola borders Namibia, Zambia, the Republic of Congo, the Democratic Republic of Congo, and the Atlantic Ocean. The Angolan exclave of Cabinda lies to the north, between the Democratic Republic of Congo and the Republic of Congo, on the Atlantic Ocean.

The name Angola is derived from the title Ngola of the kings of Ndongo, a vassal state of the historic Congo Empire located east of Luanda. The region around Luanda received this name in the 16th century from the first Portuguese sailors who landed on the coast there and erected a padrão, a stone cross as a sign of possession for the Portuguese king. The name was extended to the region around Benguela at the end of the 17th century, and then in the 19th century to the then-undemarcated territory whose colonial occupation Portugal intended to establish.

In 1961, the struggle for independence began and was won in 1975. Since then, the MPLA party has ruled the country in an authoritarian manner; corruption and human rights violations remain widespread to this day.

This is something I did for Håkan's recent open collab. I have been experimenting with mixing in surround/binaural/etc, and his music is perfect for that, so I jumped on it. Even as a small child I wanted to learn a musical instrument...

...since there was a music school in our small town where I grew up, but it was limited to the activities of the local musicians' band, the choice was rather limited... because piano, guitar or saxophone were not offered and that's why I decided me for the trumpet, which was not used for cast-technical reasons, so the FLÜGELHORN became my instrument...
In my youth I turned my back on music and was active in sports towards the end of my teenage years...
