Drew McDowall and Hiro Kone’s collaborative record "The Ghost of Georges Bataille" induces a state of suspense via sonic seance. Conjuring the sentiment of death as productive force, the artists join their analog paradigms to open a door elsewhere, or perhaps, inside - sublimating personal struggles into ritualistic offerings. Churning, cinematic, and pulsating with an organic sentience - The Ghost of Georges Bataille invites an undeniable presence into the consciousness and lulls both collectors and the newly inducted alike into catharsis - with the hairs on their arms standing up. BL_K Noise is proud to announce that Richard Devine - Systik will be released November 11 with pre-orders starting today. Systik is comprised of four acid tracks produced, performed live, and mastered by Richard, not originally intended to be released. Richard debuted his acid set at BL_K Noise in Los Angeles in January 2020 with the original goal of crafting and performing it throughout the rest of the year - but, as we all know, this year had different plans for us. Sinscur, the ever-evolving fractured acid track is available to stream and download on Bandcamp now.

Richard Devine’s influences, inspiration, and roots come from many sources - and this release is a homage paid to classic acid albums that inspired him in his early career but with a more modern approach and arsenal.

Every purchase in the pre-order period is entered to win a set of HEDDphones by Hedd (Heinz Electrodynamic Designs) valued at $1,899. A winner will be announced on November 11th.

Mesh Mix Series 008: Lindred 

A curated series where we commission artists to make an hour long mix of whatever inspires them to experiment, produce, play out and what they listen to.

 "This mix is a reflection of the work I have being developing as a sound practitioner for my new conceptual wellness sessions; the Soundspa. I present here some of the sonic vocabulary that I create from field recordings, digitally processed abstract sounds, and lush drones. 

During sessions at the Soundspa, the deep listener lays in between four speakers placed around their head and a subwoofer at their feet. With the aid of my voice, I bring them into a relaxed state and take them on an aural journey that is often times met with feelings of exhilaration, waves of body disorientation, and most excitingly: otherwordly wonder.

When listening to this mix I suggest to listen to it at a gentle volume, as if it’s a background or with your eyes closed in a comfy place with headphones. The sounds have been spatialize to move around your head, adding an extra element of mystique - and you may be surprised to find your mind wandering off and creating images or touching memories you have forgotten. The tracks are wedged between soundscapes of my own" - Lindred
