ORIGINAL Citation (Oct 2014): Rosetta’s Plasma Consortium (RPC) has uncovered a mysterious ‘song’ that Comet 67P/Churyumov-Gerasimenko is singing into space. The comet seems to be emitting a ‘song’ in the form of oscillations in the magnetic field in the comet’s environment. It is being sung at 40-50 millihertz, far below human hearing, which typically picks up sound between 20 Hz and 20 kHz. To make the music audible to the human ear, the frequencies have been increased in this recording. Swelling came over to our place at Kalyani with his Djembe which we had recently bought along with a Mandolin for Subho, Uke for Punky and a Cajon for me. And so it started.

Don't Panic is the new album from British virtuoso acoustic guitarist and singer-songwriter, Jon Gomm. 

Don't Panic is the follow up to debut album Hypertension, released way back in December 2003. Why the long wait? ''I made the first record shortly after I d put together a solo acoustic set and wanted to start touring: it was just a demo to get gigs. I made it a full length album because back then the gig fee was barely covering my petrol money, and I needed something to sell!'' This plan worked a little too well, and Gomm has been touring hard ever since, taking his unique brand of virtuosic acoustic guitar-playing to prestigious festivals around Europe and a punishing tour schedule centred around the UK and Italy, and a new album has had to wait. 

The new CD features stronger songs, exhibiting Jon's genuine grasp of a wide range of genres from blues to jazz to rock to country, which comes from his lifelong experience as a session musician and musical academic. Throw in some Urdu lyrics and you're getting the picture: a one man melting pot. The songs range from dark laments, to sweet melodies, to frenzied romps and there's even elements of the humour for which Jon's live shows are renowned. The guitar playing here is perhaps even more technically demanding than the previous CD too: ''Every time I arrange a new guitar part I make sure I can t play it without practice. I love the technical aspect as much as the creative process of songwriting, although they are very much separate affairs.'' And as with the debut album, there are no overdubs here, although it may sound like it: there is never more than one guitar on every track. 

Jon's fiercely independent approach to the music industry has meant that the CD was home recorded and is released on his own label.

Naturally inclined to music to a point of tipping over, I sprouted out in the hill town of Shillong, India.
The town has abundance of Bamboos and strong all day winds. And when strong wind pass through broken bamboos they make an awful sound- one used to describe my innocent cries as a baby by family members. I was a worthy nephew for my uncle, who's ghastly voice tops my list of all the horrid voices i encountered in all these years.
I wanted to change that, i faked my way into the choir group in school for the annual play & concert in class 7 and managed to stay there till i passed out. Also in these years i really got introduced to various local English band music, hill folk songs, gospel songs etc. But it was when my father bought me  my first Gn'R Double cassette Live Era 87-93 in Class 8, I reeeeeaaalllly got into rock n roll. 
Since then, after class 10, our family shifted to Barrackpore in West Bengal. Music continued. And blah blah blah what happened next I'll fill out here some other day. 

Basically all i wanted to say is ...I sing and I play the guitar. And this is my soundcloud. Thanks for reading the desc!!!!
