This is a traditional wall of sound approach, starting with hard driving guitars which are joined by a very interesting drumline.

There’s a focus on using the toms, and with a slightly modified beat which keeps your attention.

This song is not all about beating you down with volume, there’s more melody happening there than with most similar songs.

Perhaps a bit more vocal in the mix – this is, after all, a song trying to deliver a message.

But then, the vocal seems under-emphasised in their other music I have heard.

The dynamic push and pull between the instrumentation and Kate's lyricism and vocal stylings paint a sonic tapestry that is equal parts contemplative and soul-stirring.

Her message is an interesting one, it’s feels like it is addressed to First Nations people - You and I are not so different.

It talks of them all being different to the mainstream in that “damn rodeo town.”

The question is asked, where do we fit?

Can we find a fit with each other? 

And this is where things get really interesting. Kate sings, “We need to pay the rent.”

That issue distinguishes the position of First Nations people from other alienated Australians.

This is a very interesting song, it poses some very real questions, and getting answers will not be easy.

Just a tweak on the voice and more people will be able to more easily distinguish and react to the messages.
