I wrote this track a while ago, but never finished it. So when my pal and monster drummer Jeroen Simons contacted me to ask if I was interested in doing some jamming and recording again, this tune popped into my head. In fact it has always been there, 'cause I find myself humming some of the melodies from time to time. And melody is really what this song is all about. It has this high energy vibe to it, reminiscent of Andy Timmons and Joe Satriani, some of my favorite players when it comes to great instrumental electric guitar music. Not just mindless shredding, but MUSIC. It reminds me of summer, good times, travelling, that kind of stuff, hence the title. Sometimes you can look up to the sky and see all those white stripes from planes going everywhere. I thought that image perfectly fits in with this song. Enjoy!

Jet Stream Sky

This is a rehearsal recording of a tune I wrote back in 2007 or 8 I believe. It's really Steve Vai-influenced, you can tell by the use of the lydian mode. So it's kind of a tribute to my all time favorite guitarist. Hope to record this  in a proper way one day. For now: enjoy! 

Vai-tal/Vai-ral (demo)

This is a tune I wrote some years ago in collaboration with guitarplayer Edwin Kosters. I met him through the Dutch online guitar community gitaarnet.nl. Even though our styles are quite different, they seemed to work out together. So we jammed a few times at his and my place and eventually recorded two songs together. I 'guested' on one of his as well. Some parts of this song were written during recording or improvised on the spot, since it wasn't finished. It turned out a cool tune I think and it reminds me of the fun we had. We might do something again together in the future.

Clouds

This was actually the first ever instrumental guitar tune I wrote, back in 1997 or 98. This is - finally - a decent recording of it. Me and my friends used to hang out on sundays, going to the beach, bringing a football and just goof around. It's where the title and inspiration for the song came from.

Evolution

This is an instrumental guitar ballad I wrote over a decade ago, but It's still one of my favorite songs. Very Satriani-influenced, obviously. It won me the price for 'best composition' during the finals of the Sena Guitar Awards 2002 in Amsterdam and I got to record it at the famous Bolland Studio in Blaricum, NL. Used a borrowed 1989 Ibanez JEM 77fp and a Line6 POD.

Horizon

HORIZON

SENSE is an an acoustic pop/siso outfit from The Netherlands, formed by singer Annemiek van der Weele and guitarist Luc Oggel. Both experienced musicians, they decided that they wanted to bring music in its purest form. The repertoire consists of well-known songs in a 'SENSE-way' as well as original material. In june 2011, SENSE recorded a promo-cd containing five songs at the Avalanche Studio. Several homestudio recordings followed. August 2013 saw the release  of SENSE's first official single. The song Card Of Life was recorded at the famous ACE Studio in Aartselaar, Belgium and mixed by well-known Dutch producer Holger Schwedt. The song got a lot of airplay on local and regional radio stations.
In september 2014 a new track was released: Come Closer, which featured a distorted electric guitar for the first time. 
In october of 2015, SENSE went 'back to basic' with the release of their four-song autumn EP: just vocals and acoustic guitar (and a 16-bar piano appearance ;-)). The tracks show the more 'serious' side of SENSE and coincidental noises from a heater were left in the recording.
In the following years SENSE gigged a lot and released multiple singles as well as a rendition of the Pat Benatar 80s classic Love Is A Battlefield.  March 25th 2022 saw the release of the new single 'Mask', which features drums, bass and electric guitar once again, a first since 2014's Come Closer.  In 2023 and 2024 Luc and Annemiek did something different and released some songs in their own language, Dutch. But in january 2025 they will return to English with a brand new, full-band song called 'Inner Clown', inspired by all the turmoil that's goin on in the world.
