Innerhalb der international renommierten Robert Schumann Hochschule Düsseldorf liegt der Fokus am Institut Fuer Musik Und Medien (IMM) auf der Verbindung von Kunst, Technologie und Theorie. Die hervorragende technische Ausstattung und die breit gefächerten Lehrveranstaltungen erlauben intensive Praxis und konzeptuelle Reflexion auf hohem Niveau. In Gruppenprojekten tragen Professoren, Dozenten und Studierende gemeinsam zu künstlerischer Medienforschung bei.

Der künstlerisch-wissenschaftliche Studiengang Musik und Medien schließt mit einem Bachelor of Music ab. Der Studiengang Ton und Bild, gemeinsam durchgeführt mit der Fachhochschule Düsseldorf, endet mit einem Bachelor of Engineering. Beide achtsemestrigen Studiengänge setzen das Bestehen einer musikalischen Eignungsprüfung voraus.

The Institute For Music And Media (IMM), a part of the internationally renowned Robert Schumann School of Music and Media in Düsseldorf, focuses on a combination of art, technology and theory. The broad range of courses and outstanding facilities available allow for both a high level of practical learning and critical reflection. In group projects, professors and assistant professors and students  jointly contribute towards artistic media research.

With its dual artistic and scientific emphasis, the Music and Media study programme is completed with a Bachelor of Music degree. The Audio and Video programme, held jointly with Düsseldorf University of Applied Science, leads to a Bachelor of Engineering degree. Both programmes are designed to take eight semesters, and applicants are required to pass a test based on musical ability such as instrumental standard.

Ensemble committed to an imaginative and cinematically suitable sound who aim at overtaking any limits of music genres. Indeed their name is inspired by the Stieglitz's Dadaist magazine "291" doing homage to that lawless, ironic, and creative movement that rejected the reasons and logic of pre-established rules. 
291out project presents original compositions based on a fusion approach moving at free frequencies through the territories of jazz and funk, with influences deeply rooted in the tradition of Italian prog and soundtrack realms; yet they don't miss to explore many further soundscapes, including electronica, in their eclectic music production scope also expressed by side projects and collaborations with other artists.
Consistently on the lookout for unexpected suggestions, they highlight an experimental nature strongly connected to the video art: a "motion-picture" flavour coming from their professional experience as applied music composers for A/V productions.

Sean Johnston has been DJ'ing since his formative years in the frozen North. Acid House Veteran, Techno Survivor, Hardway Bros, Beard Scientist and Freelance Disco Consultant he has played at some of London's landmark clubs including The Promised Land, Sabre Sonic, Club UK, Final Frontier, Disco Bloodbath and was one of the founding residents at London Super Club Cable. He also plays regularly at Voyage Voyage in up and coming Berlin venue Salon Zur Wilden Renate.
His productions, alongside fellow Hardway Bros, Jake Davies and a mysterious South Londoner known only as Rico have graced Sabres of Paradise, Third Mind, Flashcomm and more recently Beard Science, Pointless Edits, Aniligital, History Clock, Astrolab and cult Norwegian act Mungolian Jetset's label Luna Flicks. 
 
Sean's DJ'ing style described by FACT Magazine as "Future Disco" is hard to pin down to one convenient genre, taking in house, disco, re-edits, techno and frankly anything else that takes his fancy. 
 
Alongside Andrew Weatherall he runs and DJ's at A Love From Outer Space, a cult monthly residency at The Drop in North London. The night's manifesto is to never knowingly exceed 122bpm and is home to a multitude of genres including ambient, balearica, dub, krautrock, post punk, proto house, un-disco and other curiosities from the pair's extensive record collections.
