For over twenty years Jason Sweeney, based on Kaurna Country in South Australia, has been composing and recording either solo, in various electronic bands (Other People’s Children, Pretty Boy Crossover) and under the composer alias of Panoptique Electrical. He has also been directing and creating interactive works for the internet, making experimental films, curating projects for galleries and theatre spaces and has collaborated with and composed for some of Australia’s leading performing arts companies, artists and organisations.

Decades (2001-2021), Panoptique Electrical’s eighth full-length album, spans 20 years of compositions over 70 minutes and 31 tracks. Starting in 2001, with pieces made from lo-fi synth drones, sampled loops and broken pianos, taking us through to more recent works featuring layered atmospheric strings, processed piano, field recordings, cinematic cello performed by frequent collaborator Zoë Barry and cut-up vocal pieces performed by Caroline Daish, Decades (2001-2021) perfectly blends melancholic ambient music, modern classical composition, experimental electronics and evocative soundscapes.

øjeRum is the solo project of musician and collage artist Paw Grabowski, based in Copenhagen, Denmark. For over a decade, he has been producing his sublime music, ranging from atmospheric ambient to experimental folk, having released several albums and EPs on labels such as Fluid Audio, Eilean Rec., Shimmering Moods Records, Champion Version, Unknown Tone Records and many others.

Støvfald consists of two long-form compositions of dark ambient, with a total duration of 60 minutes, captivating the listener with its atmospheric textures and hypnotic soundscapes. The album, built around layers of swelling hypnotic drones and minimal guitar melodies, started taking shape last year on Grabowski’s birthday when he was watching Andrei Tarkovsky's Stalker while playing and recording some music inspired by the film.

Stay For The Sorrow is a collection of queer, melancholy, ambient pop tunes that traverses the tender territory of companionship lost whilst searching for a brave new heart.

The Kids And The Cosmos is the alias of British producer/composer Justin Lee Radford. He is already known as one half of the ambient/electronic duo HIN, along with Jerome Alexander (Message To Bears), having released their highly acclaimed debut Warmer Weather EP on Sound In Silence in 2019. Radford has cultivated extensive collaborations with film makers, environmentalists, astronauts, scientists and social activists whilst composing music for film, VR, commercials, art installations and theatre. In late 2018 he released a 2-track single of solo piano pieces under his own name and, along with his childhood friends Jerome Alexander (Message To Bears) and Maximilian Fyfe (Paint Splat Faces), he is also member of the project Human Suits composing original scores for the documentaries of Planetary Collective.

Ambient Mixtape Vol.1 is made up of five soothing tracks, with a total duration of about 28 minutes. Ambient Mixtape Vol.1 is a slow and meditative exploration into the life and spirit cycle of a human being. The roots of these tracks grew when Justin held his Nan’s hand as she died, a powerful and transcendent moment he has carried with him ever since.
Utilizing crystalline electric piano chords, delicate electronic textures of calm synth-tones, subtle beats and choral voices, enhanced by the additional mixing and vocals by Jerome Alexander (Message To Bears) and cello performances by James Gow, The Kids And The Cosmos creates a wonderful debut release of warm ambient and dreamy electronica.

JARR is a collaborative project between British ambient guitarists Yellow6 and Wodwo.
Jon Attwood started Yellow6 as a solo guitar project in the late 90s, initially inspired by space/post-rock, electronica and reverb soundscapes. From his debut single on the Enraptured label, Attwood’s discography runs to over 150 releases, spanning a wide spectrum of atmospheric post-rock and minimalist ambient music. Throughout Attwood’s illustrious career, his music has featured on The John Peel Show and Resonance FM, has provided the soundtrack to several films and TV documentaries, and found homes on labels such as Make Mine Music, Resonant, Cathedral Transmissions, Silber and Somewherecold.
Wodwo is the alias of Ray Robinson, an award-winning novelist and screenwriter with literary works that have been adapted into major motion pictures. Inspired by artists such as Yellow6, Yutaka Hirasaka and Marcus Fischer, Robinson’s foray into ambient music began in 2018 and his compositions have quickly attracted a blossoming legion of fans.

Talking About X is JARR’s second full-length album, following their debut An Echo In Her Skin, released on Hush Hush Records in 2021 to critical acclaim. Their new album, made up of nine new tracks with a total duration of about 50 minutes, is stylistically different to their debut, being more heartfelt and emotional. Its sound is far more expansive and melodical, while the soundscapes are still solidly post-rock but with a much dreamier, more ambient feel.

Logout is the solo project of a multi-instrumentalist, born in Athens, Greece, who for over a decade has been producing his wonderful music, ranging from acoustic folk and lo-fi to dream pop and electronica, having released four albums on labels such as Inner Ear and Tiny Room Records. He has collaborated with artists such as Nalyssa Green, Christos Lainas, Orestis Petrakis, Kalliopi Mitropoulou and others, while back in the mid 2000s he was a member of the indie/alternative band The Place Within which was active between 2005 and 2010.

Instrumentals, Logout’s fifth release, finds him returning to the classical guitar, the instrument with which he started his musical training as a kid. While his previous four albums have been focused to songwriting, this is his first release without lyrics. It explores musical themes written in the span of more than twenty years, with the resulting seven tracks ending up somewhere between classical & indie folk genres. On all the tracks Logout is supported by the beautiful violins of Kalliopi Mitropoulou, a classical violinist who also performs in multiple classical and indie projects in Athens and London.

Yellow6 is the solo project of Jon Attwood, based in Leicestershire, UK. Ludvig Cimbrelius is a Swedish musician who for over a decade has been producing his wonderful music, ranging from ambient and modern classical to deep electronic and minimal dub techno, under his own name and many different aliases such as Eternell, Purl, Illuvia and others. His music has been released on many labels, including Silent Season, Dewtone Recordings, Archives, A Strangely Isolated Place, Sound In Silence, Databloem, Stereoscenic Records and many others, as well as his own labels Eternell and LILA लीला.

Love Letters From The Sky consists of eight compositions of calm piano meditations resting on distant ambience, with a total duration of about 55 minutes. For all his piano focused releases Cimbrelius tends to use his own name instead of any other alias and the same applies here. The album is the result of some love letters he received and translated to melodies during the past 4 years, creating a smooth and immersive aural experience, based on piano recordings, made both in Sweden as well as on a very old piano up in the mountains of Georgia last autumn, airy synth textures and delicate guitar swells.

Sound In Silence proudly presents the collaboration of Ruxpin & Stafrænn Hákon and their first album Meet Me In Forever.

Both artists have been part of Sound In Silence in the past, as Stafrænn Hákon had released on the label his seventh full-length album Prammi in 2012 and had collaborated with Absent Without Leave on the later’s album Faded Photographs in 2010, while Ruxpin had contributed a remix to the Faded Photographs Remixes album that followed in 2013.

The eclectic electronic producer Ruxpin is one of the leading figures in the Icelandic contemporary music scene. Widely associated with iconic labels such as n5MD and Elektrolux, Ruxpin stays true to his roots by consistently innovating his interpretation of melodic IDM electronic music, integrating soul and innovation with the scene.

Stafrænn Hákon has collaborated with a broad range of artists and musicians and was aired at the late John Peel´s radio sessions amongst others. The band has released material on several indie labels such as Darla Records, Secret Eye Records, Resonant, Awkward Silence Recordings, Chat Blanc Records and Japanese Nature Bliss & Happy Prince.

Two opposites make a positive. Two musical acts, both originating from Iceland, who have traveled separate paths for more than twenty years unite and bring us twelve compositions where the electronic world of Ruxpin collides with the post-rock atmospheric world of Stafrænn Hákon, resulting in an interesting blend that will undoubtedly raise some eyebrows among their followers.

Ben Rath is an ambient multi-instrumentalist based in Manchester, UK, who has been putting out sublime releases on labels such as Eilean Rec., Unknown Tone Records, Cathedral Transmissions, Triple Moon Records and others. He has also put out two releases, an EP and an album, with his acoustic lo-fi side-project Slow Heart Music and an EP with his electronic side-project Astral Harmonies.

Based on a loose concept imagining a post-collapse society in which a committee is sent back in time to observe events as they unfolded and report back on how things went so wrong, this project reflects Ben's attempts to process and work through his own political anxiety and apocalyptic unease. Exploring the emotional and psychological toll of living in a post-Brexit and post-Covid Britain, plagued by corruption, state abandonment, and failing institutions, the music on Resolve travels through a sonic landscape of grief, melancholy, and political anger, as well as a stubborn hope for a better future and a dream of a world based on love, care, and mutual solidarity.

Sound In Silence proudly presents These Clouds…, a compilation in celebration of the label’s 100th release.

These Clouds… is the 100th release of Sound In Silence, sis100, and just its second compilation, as the other one, These Waves…, was the very first release of the label, sis001, that came out in 2006.

These Clouds… consists of 18 exclusive new tracks, by an equal number of great artists, with a total duration of 80 minutes. Some of the artists have already been important members of Sound In Silence all these years, having released many wonderful albums on the label, and some others are new friends who just joined the label’s family and will probably present more of their music on the label’s future releases. Sound In Silence is thrilled to welcome back Sweeney, presenting his new album Corporeal.

For over twenty years Jason Sweeney, based on Kaurna Country in South Australia, has been composing and recording either solo under his own name, in various electronic bands (Other People’s Children, Pretty Boy Crossover) and under the composer alias of Panoptique Electrical.

Corporeal, Sweeney’s fifth full-length album under his own name, is an album about personal ghosts. It consists of 18 tracks, carefully mastered by George Mastrokostas (Absent Without Leave), with a total duration of 58 minutes. For this album Sweeney started working with paranormal audio investigation tools such as a Spirit Box, the GhostTube apps, electronic voice phenomena and other immersive techniques in order to generate sound and lyrics. Using all of this raw paranormal material he then set about composing tracks using various electronic instruments such as vinyl and turntables, a bass guitar, old microphones, a VoiceBox pedal, a 10 track mixing desk with in-built effects, drum machines, a Nord synth, then he put it all into a SP404A Roland sampler and pressed record.

In Sweeney's words:
The 18 tracks on this album span songs, soundscapes and spoken word interludes. The lead track introduces the listener to the idea of the fragility and performativity of the corporeal body. One day we will all be dust. Maybe the bones remain? So then, who am I performing for in life? Who is my audience? Was I always haunted, even before I emerged as a sentient being into the world?
Singing as if from the paranormal beyond. Singing back to the shape of a former queer self, aged beyond recognition, another life lived in the shadows of one’s personal ghosts. Now walking through life devoid of corporeal matter. These days it’s just me and my spirit box.

JARR is a collaborative project between British ambient guitarists Yellow6 and Wodwo.
Jon Attwood started Yellow6 as a solo guitar project in the late 90s, initially inspired by space/post-rock, electronica and reverb soundscapes. From his debut single on the Enraptured label, Attwood’s discography runs to over 150 releases, spanning a wide spectrum of atmospheric post-rock and minimalist ambient music. Throughout Attwood’s illustrious career, his music has featured on The John Peel Show and Resonance FM, has provided the soundtrack to several films and TV documentaries, and found homes on labels such as Make Mine Music, Resonant, Cathedral Transmissions, Silber and Somewherecold.
Wodwo is the alias of Ray Robinson, an award-winning novelist and screenwriter with literary works that have been adapted into major motion pictures. Inspired by artists such as Yellow6, Yutaka Hirasaka and Marcus Fischer, Robinson’s foray into ambient music began in 2018 and his compositions have quickly attracted a blossoming legion of fans.

42º is JARR’s third full-length album, and their second for Sound In Silence, following last year’s album Talking About X. The title of their new album, which is made up of six long-form compositions with a total duration of something more than 66 minutes, is inspired by the way a rainbow is formed.
“A rainbow is not located at a specific distance from the observer but comes from an optical illusion caused by any water droplets viewed from a certain angle relative to a light source. Thus, a rainbow is not an object and cannot be physically approached. Indeed, it is impossible for an observer to see a rainbow from water droplets at any angle other than the customary one of 42 degrees from the direction opposite the light source.”

OPandolfo is the solo project of Ólafur Josephsson, also known as Stafrænn Hákon.

Patterns was written and recorded between December 2021 and February 2023 by Josephsson with the help of his friends, and also members of Stafrænn Hákon, Lárus Siguðsson and Árni Þór Árnason, who provided acoustic guitar and lyrics respectively, and then was mixed and mastered by himself at his Vogor Studio in February 2023.
Acoustic guitars, live drums and bass are the main instruments used on this record along with some keyboard layers and some electric guitar here and there. Four songs have vocals and the remaining songs are instrumentals. The original concept was to explore the raw sound of the acoustic guitar which eventually progressed into more structured songs with more instruments added along the way. The opening track Random Patterns is a clear example of this concept. Taking inspiration from minimalist repetitive patterns found in music made by the great Steve Reich & Terry Riley´s In C as well as elements from more traditional pop music.

Tim Linghaus is a musician and composer based in Cuxhaven, Germany, who creates his compositions blurring the lines between modern classical and ambient soundscapes. Since 2016 he has released an EP in 2016 on Moderna Records and an album in 2018 on Schole and 1631 Recordings.

About B. (Memory Sketches B-Sides Recordings) is a wonderful collection of thirteen new unreleased tracks in conjunction with four reworked versions of tracks from his highly acclaimed debut album which was released last year. It is in line with his debut album as all tracks were recorded around the period of the Memory Sketches sessions, trying to preserve particular personal memories in form of music. Sound In Silence proudly announces the addition of HIN to its roster of artists, presenting their debut Warmer Weather EP.

HIN is the new ambient/electronic project of two school friends, Jerome Alexander (Message To Bears) and Justin Lee Radford (The Kids And The Cosmos), based in London and Los Angeles respectively.
Jerome Alexander is already known for his ambient/folktronica project Message To Bears, having released four highly acclaimed albums, an EP and a split album with The Soul’s Release, either self-released or on Dead Pilot Records.
HIN’s debut is Alexander’s second appearance on Sound In Silence after the, already sold out, Moments EP under his own name J.R Alexander, back in 2012.
Justin Lee Radford has cultivated extensive collaborations with film makers, environmentalists, astronauts, scientists and social activists whilst composing music for film, VR, commercials, art installations and theatre. In late 2018 he released a 2-track single of solo piano pieces under his own name and is currently working on the debut EP of his project The Kids And The Cosmos.
Alexander and Radford, along with their childhood friend Maximilian Fyfe (Paint Splat Faces), also collaborate on the project Human Suits composing original scores for the documentaries of Planetary Collective.

Warmer Weather EP is made up of five captivating tracks, with a total duration of something more than 20 minutes. HIN’s debut deals with feelings of isolation, environmentalism and friendship and is a perfect mix of dreamy electronica, elegant dream-pop and soothing ambient. Utilizing wistful guitars, warm pads, hazy synths, enchanting electric piano melodies, deep bass lines, gentle male and childlike female vocals, intricate beats and glitchy electronics, HIN create an EP full of emotive textures and sublime soundscapes.

Halftribe is the solo project of Ryan Bissett, an ambient/electronic music producer and DJ, born in Northern Ireland, residing in Manchester, UK. Influenced by other artists’ music, modern art, minimal photography, moods and emotions, since 2014 he has been producing his sublime music having released four albums and four EPs on labels such as Archives, Dronarivm, Vent Sounds, Dewtone Recordings and Silk Sofa Music.

Archipelago, Halftribe’s fifth full-length album and first for Sound In Silence, features eleven new compositions with a total duration of something less than 45 minutes. Bissett creates one of his best albums to date, skillfully blending together airy synths, soothing pads, hazy drones, delicate chimes, processed vocal samples, lo-fi plucked guitars, overlapping tones, looped crackles and calm field recordings.

Sound In Silence is proud to welcome Hotel Neon to its family, presenting their new album Moments.

Hotel Neon is an ambient trio, geographically spread between Philadelphia, Baltimore and Virginia Beach, USA. Formed in 2013 as a duo by twin brothers Andrew and Michael Tasselmyer, Hotel Neon expanded into a trio when Steven Kemner joined them in 2015. To date they have released five albums on labels such as Home Normal, Fluid Audio and Archives, a 10” vinyl split with Endless Melancholy on Thesis, and a single on Past Inside The Present. They have also self-released a remix album, two tour cassettes and four singles, two of which collaborating with Slow Meadow and one with Blurstem. Hotel Neon have toured with the likes of Benoît Pioulard, Lowercase Noises, Slow Meadow, Loscil, The Sight Below, Marcus Fischer and Christopher Tignor, filling a variety of performance spaces from galleries to cathedrals with their densely layered walls of sound, while all three members have also been active either as solo artists or in groups and projects such as The Sound Of Rescue, Gray Acres, Solidarity Hymn, Mordançage and Transient Sounds.

Moments, Hotel Neon’s sixth full-length album and first for Sound In Silence, consists of seven evocative tracks with a total duration of something more than 36 minutes. Recorded in the span of just eight weeks and done remotely, Moments is definitely one of the more minimal and textural albums Hotel Neon have ever made. Proving that they avoid repeating themselves with every album, on Moments there is certainly a stronger presence of more orchestral sounds than on their previous albums. Widening their sound palette with more swelling strings, moving orchestral elements, and subtle piano melodies, along with their usual textured layers of hazy guitars, glassy drones, soothing pads and field recordings, Hotel Neon offer one of their best albums to date.

Sound In Silence is happy to announce the addition of Julian Ross to its roster of artists, presenting their new album Fadeaway.

Julian Ross is the ambient/post-rock duo of Ettore Di Roberto, co-founder and still member of Port-Royal, and Andrea Comotto, former bassist in a local blues band, based in Genoa, Italy. Formed in 2016, Julian Ross released their debut album Retrospective on Silent Flow netlabel in 2018, representing the meeting of two different visions of music naturally blending one into each other.

Fadeaway, Julian Ross’ second full-length album, consists of five long-form tracks with a total duration of 35 minutes. Blending layers of mesmerizing synth pads, hypnotic bass lines, loops of delicate acoustic guitar arpeggios, subtle beats, electronic glitches, lo-fi samples, field recordings and indistinct voices from various speeches, Julian Ross create a wonderful album that perfectly mixes warm ambient, gentle electronica and minimal post-rock.
Mastered by Emilio Pozzolini, also member of Port-Royal, Fadeaway is an impressive album, highly recommended for devotees of Labradford, Tim Hecker, Fennesz and of course the quieter moments of Port-Royal.
