This composition is the final version of the 'first' track of my upcoming piano album. This year I changed the tuning of my virtual piano  (Pianoteq5) from 440Hz  to 432Hz 'A' pitch. This whole new tuning 'thing' also changed me; it 'tuned' me, making me  'feel'  the music in a whole and exciting different way....hope you guys enjoy it as much as I do...

The sleeve notes state: “Prelude (Allegro) is in the French style - highly rhythmical, it makes use of two sharply contrasting ideas. This movement and the next are both ‘pointillistic’ in character. Air (Mesto) is a dance-like balletic piece full of repose. In Danse (Allegretto) the great French tradition continues with a fast waltz like movement full of rubato. Intermezzo (Largo) is a movement of deep feeling, held together with continuous semiquaver movement, almost a ‘song without words’. Caprice (Presto) is perhaps the most French one of all: using two contrasting ideas slightly reminiscent of the prelude, it ties the Serenade together, ending on a toccata-like flourish. The work was later scored as the Serenade For Small Orchestra Op.33, and first played by the Philomusica under David Littaur at a Victoria and Albert Museum concert in 1971.”
I found the movements cheerful (Caprice. Presto), delightly melodic, expressive, as of waiting in expectation of repose (Air. Maesto); contemplative, gentle and evocative of the quieter moments of the day (Intermezzo. Largo).
