DJ Mateo’s passion for dance music started a decade ago and it’s still going strong. Matthew Yausie has been sharing music in both the yoga studio and on dance floors across Saskatchewan and around Western Canada. Matt has been guiding Release Yourself Vinyasa Yoga & Dance events for many years. These yoga/dance parties are high energy, good vibes and always a fun time. More recently Mateo has held down the Sound Therapy residency at the Hookah Lounge Regina over the winter & spring months and is in the rotation for Funktion at the Freeehouse Saskatoon. His influences are Hernan Cattaneo, Guy J, Eelke Kleijn John Digweed, Carl Cox, Joseph Capriati, Harvey McKay, Pig & Dan, Art Department, Hot Since 82 and Darin Epsilon to name a few. Mateo is known for captivating audiences and taking them on a journey through deep, groovy, dark, uplifting, melodic sounds. Yausie believes that music and dance are a sacred opportunity for people to express themselves freely and go somewhere communally.

He is one of the few DJ's that have managed to cross pollinate audiences and merge at least two generations of music fans on his dance floors. Thus, he is in demand at clubs, as well as on the festival circuit alike, stateside and abroad.
