When your roots have a broad geographical diversity, it’s very likely this will resonate in the music you make. This is certainly the case with Alma Negra and their new release on Heist. It seems they have embraced all their cultural influences more than ever in their new ‘Dakar Disco EP’. The whole record oozes class and musicality and feels like a carefree collage of the rich musical lives they live. The three originals on this EP vary in tempo and energy, giving you something for each moment of the day or night. They are accompanied by a remix from none other than the Japanese master of cosmic funk: Kuniyuki.

The EP’s closing track ‘Back in town’, is perhaps the clubbiest track of the set. A friendly acid line squeaks over tribal drums & chants and you immediately get pulled in by a great balafon hook. You can really hear how the guys feel at ease combining these worldly elements with modern electronics and ‘Back in town’ is a great example on how to blend these sonic worlds.

After gracing labels like Omena Records, ANMA Records, Banoffee Pies Records and Tusk Wax, Rome's SofaTalk lands on Monologues with fellow Italian and upcoming talent , XL Regular in tow. Together they cook up an EP of loungey deep house and intricate broken beat, all laced with the live instrumentation that has made SofaTalk's catalogue so recognisable. Sweet keys, muted trumpets, jazzy guitar licks and warm live bass abound. Label boss Ben Gomori delivers a hazy house rework of 'While She Sleeps' which is best accompanied by a balmy beach, and an uncharacteristic jungle work out of 'Jaws' because... lockdown makes / made people do unusual things.

DC Promo Tracks #671: Larry Houl "The Vinyl Frontier"

Following on from this years releases by Longhair and Dr Valentines Claptrap are back with Vanity Project’s new release ‘Big Pharma’. Vanity Project has been managing Claptrap with his partner in crime Dr Valentines since their first 12" release in 2017 and dropped his first full release, a self titled EP in 2018. Since then he’s been DJing & performing live shows around the UK and has most recently dropped the City Elastic EP on London’s Midnight People. Big Pharma features four spaced out original house cuts ready for the dance floor.
A1, 'Letters and Numbers’ opens the EP with a driving groove, tight drums and rubbery
synths.
A2 the title track ‘Big Pharma’ brings a hint of acid alongside a deeper thumping house groove.
B1 Grow Slow, kicks off the second side with a mellow down tempo sizzler, prime for those outdoor parties. 
The final track Index, premiered here  brings the EP to a close with swirling euphoric synth lines and a dance floor moving stomp

Native Cruise infuses crunchy house drums with the piano hook on 'Perfume' and Manuel Darquart get Technique-era New Order with 'A Dance With Jupiter'. With 'Dream Clouds' Newborn Jr brings the house down with an irresistible guitar hook and italo arps; Bliss Inc fuses his modern progressive style to 'Spirit Walker' while Man Power closes the proceedings with a tribal heavy house workout on 'Acid Safari.
