About the CD:
I was always aware of Bukem, another DJ who managed to make underground rumblings to the listeners of the British dance scene without  us seemingly knowing who they even were... we just knew about them anyway.  immediately fell in love with this CD once Makoto's 'Inside Your Love' rolled in with MC Conrad's silky smooth mc'ing riding over the top. I'd always loved drum and bass from a distance, but from hearing that track... I was forever a massive fan. I bought into the Good Looking label, bought alot of old releases, all the mix cd's and then fell in love with Bukem's downtempo sister label 'Cookin Records'. This influence was one of the main sounds of my early vinyl days and has gone on to educate and delight for another decade and more. Play it loud, ride the groove, feel the bass. BUKEM!

This is my (Jo Public) mix of the tracks on CD-A from the original 1996 version of LTJ's Logical Progression (the unmixed CD), I am NOT affiliated with GoodLooking. This mix features 10 of the best intelligent DnB tracks ever made, each track easily stands on its own but I don't like uploading full tracks unmixed - it feels like too much of a copyright infringement - plus I never listen to unmixed tracks - hopefully my mix does 'em justice. I've been looking for this set for a long time but have never been able to find it online, only the 2001 re-released version where the mixed CD was replaced with the 'Ministry of Sound Half A Decade Of Dance' 96 live set and different tracks on the un-mixed CD. I brought a 2nd hand copy from Discogs.com after losing my original copy of CD back in 2005.

No infringement of copyright is intended, I'm assuming it's ok to make this available to download as it's not possible to buy this new anymore. If there is a problem with copyright let me know and I'll remove it.

As always, all props to the artists, producers n engineers that made these tracks, nuff respect to all the Goodlooking family.

Kamikaze Space Programme is a true sonic renegade, a genuine musical experimenter. Somewhere between a classic Musique Concrete and modern electronic approach, KSP’s music is made up of myriad samples, found sounds and white noise from real world situations, it lends the stuff a very real texture and aesthetic that links it to the here and now, the everyday, in a very real way. The sound of an old truck, the hiss of a kettle or the clunking of a door are all fair game for KSP, who then takes his strange sound sources and weaves them into infectious sonic tapestries and intricate rhythms - KSP is a project with its own sonic identity has become a formidable live act that has been snapped up by the press and public alike, with many top club appearances such as Berghain and the Atonal Festival and music being released on labels such as Luke Slater's legendary Mote Evolver, KILLEKILL, Tresor, Osiris & TRUST. He has been commissioned to remix artists such as Planetary Assault Systems, Emika, He/aT, Monic and The Exaltics, always adding his own idiosyncratic take on things.

Born in Vitoria, Spain, Kike Pravda​'s interest for music comes
since he was a child. His parents worked in a music store, so he always had near as all kind of instruments as analog machines. While his father, electronic musician and sound technician, took home devices such the Roland TR 909 or Monopoly or DX7 Korg keyboards to study for work, Kike played with them and learned to program them, beginning to educate his ear with that today are classics of electronic music without even knowing he was beginning to lay the foundations of his future. This has led him to share stage with world-class artists like Oscar Mulero​, Ben Sims​, Reeko​, Regis, James Ruskin, Takaaki Itoh​ among many others. Given his passion for music, the next step in his career was clear. His first work was on vinyl for Katak Dutch label in2000, under the name Phazer in a duo with his brother. But it was not until 2009 when he saw one of his dreams fulfilled as a producer, published in the Warm Up Recordings label, which released “Fear is the Enemy”, which accompanied a work of Oscar Mulero remix.
However, 2012 is the year when Kike Pravda gives the final step. First, with a new release on Warm Up, “Queen of the damned” composed of two tracks and, again, a remix by Oscar Mulero. And then, with the creation of his own label, SENOID Recordings​, for whose first reference was supported with a remix by Ben Sims and which already has played by hand of reel known artists like Chris Liebing, DVS1, Truncate, Exium, Oscar Mulero, or Marcel Flenger 
Children of Tomorrow​ , Faut Section​, Dust Recs, Injected Poison labels are the last works signed by Kike in 2016 being one of the 100 most charted artists in Resident Advisor.

Young and promising techno producer coming from Saarbrücken, Germany. He started experimenting with music and production at the early age of 16, producing beats and tracks varying in style, and crossing genres.
The main theme shared between his techno productions is the energy, each telling a unique story over a rolling bassline. His work for Carcères Records "Untitled 04" shows great creativity with a good sense of rhythm and composition. As an emerging artist, his productions are mainly independent but already managed to get a lot of curiosity from different labels releasing his first full EP on one of his favorite labels "Märked" and a very detailed and psychedelic track on ISMUS for their first VA.

The Essential Mix is a weekly radio show on BBC Radio 1 currently broadcast between 0:00 - 2:00 AM UK time on Saturday morning. Originally broadcast on 30 October 1993, the Essential Mix features contemporary DJs and music producers of electronic dance music. The show has been presented since its inception by Pete Tong and features an uninterrupted two-hour mix from a different artist each week, overlaid with occasional continuity announcements delivered by Tong. With a broadcast run in excess of 25 years, the Essential Mix is one of the longest-running programmes in the current BBC Radio 1 schedule, and is one of very few Radio 1 shows which is not broadcast live.

Hey, Gareth here, I'm a graphic designer who start designing for clubs, parties, and labels in the late 90s. Back then, mix CDs were the holy grail of both design and music. I loved them.

But I wasn't the only one, mix cds were the soundtracks of our nights, our days, our afterparties and lives, for everyone. Yet in today's internet age, the art form has been lost (or just changed) to 2-3 hour online mixes and streaming videos, which just don't create the same magic your CD collection did. Just 60 minutes of music and incredible artwork.

The Classic Mix CD Series celebrates these discs, their soundtrack, their box art and your memories. We hope you enjoy it.
