This one is a reference to the horsemen of Apocalypse. It was composed just before the invasion of Ukraine by the Russian Army. Robert, gently accepted to add his amazing guitar playing on it.

As a species we have made incredible technological advances, yet when it comes II maters of the heart we have failed II come up with a formula that works.  Hence that’s why the head & heart find it difficult II find common ground.

Recently, there was an untimely death in my close family.
       ....Is there such a thing as a ‘timely’ death? 
I have never dealt well with the notion of end-of-life. 
        ....Maybe, nobody does?
When the urn/ casket is ceremoniously placed in the ground, does the spirit/ soul/ essence/ consciousness of that unique individual live on in some unique manifestation?
         ....I want to believe that is the case.

Hence, the confusing musical/ visual message of this composition. 
If, in death, there is a transition to a new way of being, the interim unknown must be staggering.

I hope all our dear friends and family meet again, and share a beer, on the “other side”.

La Bacchiana brasileira n°5 de Heitor Villa Lobos  a été et reste pour moi un chef d'œuvre d'une puissance émotionnelle inouie. Aussi, quand je m'aperçus que la mélodie de mon dernier morceau commençait inconsciemment par les deux premiers accords de la mélodie de Villa Lobos, j'avais deux solutions : soit mettre à la poubelle mon petit morceau ( dont le degré de valeur musicale face à la musique de ce génie est à peu près l'équivalent de la taille d'une puce par rapport à celle d'une baleine à bosse), soit me dire qu'après tout, si cela donnait envie à l'auditeur de découvrir ou de réécouter l'œuvre de Villa Lobos, cela ne serait peut-être pas peine perdue. Aussi pour rendre à César - en l'occurrence au musicien brésilien - ce qui lui est dû, j'ai conservé le morceau, mais l'ai encadré d'une référence directe à la mélodie de la Bacchiana, un peu simplifiée pour pouvoir être jouée au piano.
