Reclaim Your City 171 | Anja Zaube (Berlin)

Anja Zaube can look back on a long DJ-bio already. After first appearances as ‘Nanday’ in the left-winged underground of Berlin, she took a short break and had a come-back to the turntables in 2008 under her own name. She’s often seen in Berlin’s top-clubs, from which mostly to be heard in ://about blank.

After playing different genres of electronic dance music, Anja‘s sound turned darker and harder. Her interpretation of Techno is deep, bleak, but also industrial and experimental. That‘s what makes her sound unique and what finally got her several bookings in Berghain already and made her a popular DJ in the Berlin Underground Techno Scene.

After her first release on://about blank’s celebration sampler, she also released her first EP on the label HET, named Sylvan Structes EP. In January 2016 she launched her own label Nemorous Rec. in collaboration with Dim_Light - which has a more experimental approach to techno. A third release is already in the pipeline one with more to come. The mix for RYC opens with Lost, her new track which is going to be released on the next Nemorous Rec. very soon.

Electric Indigo, DJ, composer, musician, has performed in 38 countries across Europe, Asia, and the Americas. She represents an intelligent and distinguished interpretation of techno and electronic music. Her DJ-sets are characterized by a wide variety with a clarity of vision and a depth that comes from a deep understanding of the music and the art of DJing. As a composer and musician, she creates music for concert spaces, clubs, sound installations and occasionally for stage plays and short films. In her compositions and live performances, she emphasizes the spatial-temporal placement of subtly elaborated sounds and structures, often generated from speech recordings. Electric Indigo shuttles between Vienna and Berlin.

Known as globally touring DJ and the man behind OFF Recordings for many years, the recent past saw massive changes for Andre Crom. 
He embarked on a journey in many ways, physically (from Berlin to Barcelona), musically (from house to techno), and artistically, from being primarily a DJ, to becoming a full-fledged music producer.

Musically, Crom is exploring the shades of functional and emotional techno. Warm and raw saturated beats meet melodic and rhythmic themes, which add hook-factor and character to the grooves.

As a Polish-born kid who grew up on Rock music and spent his youth playing in various bands, who loves clubs and parties but who nevertheless has always been looking for more than what the plain reign of the four-four time has to offer, Głós (pronounced [ɡwɔs] as in 'Gwos') is a producer and live-artist who adores to make people dance with his unapologetic and hypnotic Techno. His handcrafted music stands for the pursuit and documentation of adelomorphous moments in diurnal nights, precious snippets that elsewise dissolve back into nothingness.

Hailing from Berlin, Głós' music is known for connecting 'yesterday' and 'tomorrow' without leaving 'today' aside. Slowly pulsating, his music takes off as if resounding from a distance. It seems as if you've already left the club behind while the vibrant rhythms still linger in your mind. It's the resurrection of a long gone sound whose echo is still alive on the streets, haunting you.
