KUBRICK'S RUBE

A simple "hymn" or "anthem" in the name of fresh beginnings and everything they can bring with them.

The feeling with this track is kind of similar with some previous ones of mine since I so love playing with all these wonderful instruments. 

Played by me with Korg SGProX stage piano and Yamaha Montage 8 synthesizer using the following instruments: 
- Drums: Native Instruments Abbey Road 80s Drummer (with a layered Linndrum snare);
- Bass and lead: AAC Lounge Lizard EP-4 Insomnia;
- Electric piano: Scarbee Classic EP-88s;
- Strings: UVI Orchestral Suite;
- Choir, voices: Arturia Emulator II V;
- Guitar: Native Instruments Session Guitarist - Electric Sunburst.

For New Beginnings

Teth Sin finally seems to be back with a cool wicked track called Gazelle, featuring his friend Luna on vocals/recitation. She decorated with her vivid poetry one of those creepy, dark soundscapes I've been working on these last few months. I sincerely thank her for this amazing contribution, and for her active involvement in the whole creative process of this title. Thanks for taking the time to listen to it.

Seems to be an endless repeated theme for me ~ running away to the countryside, and in recent years this has been the Australian wilderness, from the deep south to the far north.

Dedicated to, and featuring Gary Reeves (aka Mountain Songs) on drums and cymbals (remixed) at the start. Banjo, lap slide guitar (acting as bass), beats and vox by myself. This song is for Gary, who has been a wonderful musical compadre for many of us around the world, via this  Soundcloud Village.

Respect and acknowledgement to the Traditional Owners of the lands, waters and skies in this video, both in Australia and New Zealand. Particular thanks to the Yolgnu people of Gapuwiyak who made me feel so welcome during my short visit to Arnhem Land last year.

This is a cover from Paul McCartney and Wings, from the 1975 album, Venus and Mars, and this album was supported on their 1976 Wings over America tour. They always opened with Venus and Mars/Rockshow
Ken sent Josh and Tez an email a few months back, about maybe covering this awesome rocker, after we released “Hello World." Before responding, Ken reposted his cover of "Richard Cory," a Simon and Garfunkel cover, sung by Denny Laine and Sir Paul on the Wings Over America triple live album. Stephen commented that “Rockshow” was one of the first songs he learned on guitar. Ken said, “Well, here’s your sign!" He freaked and invited Stephen to immediately contact Josh.
We finished everything but the vocals by early June, but were stuck on lead vocalist. Several of the collective gave it a go, but nothing sounded right. Then came a late game idea. We had all been following and fans of The Mysterious Decibel for quite some time, so we asked him if he'd be interested in singing it. He was game, and really delivered what so many could not. He is a new, welcome addition to our mix. You'll also hear Stephen, who accomplished the herculean task of mixing and producing this song, very ably play the entire song on the guitar, with Tez playing the ripping leads.
We hope you enjoy our labor of love that has been an entire summer in the making.
