The book "The Song of the Grass" (27 chapters) is a collection of Emelie Cajsdotter’s memories of encounters and conversations with various animals, among them the thoroughbred horses of Jordan's royal stable that are seen as spiritual guides.

"Man is described by many other species, as the most separated. We have forgotten where we come from, and must choose to find our way back. It sings in the grass contains a lot of stories, where animals in different ways have chosen to help people. In our quest to remember who we are deep down".

To make her book “The Song of the Grass” accessible for English speaking friends Emelie Cajsdotter and Lukasz Stanek met in June and October 2021  in Friskeröd farm. Sitting in the meadow, surrounded by horses and next to a small stream, they embark on a storytelling journey of spontaneous translation from Swedish. Sitting in a small circle of listeners and sometimes interrupted by laughter and questions, or hungry horses, Emelie brings her book to life, adding in details and comments. The sounds of the birds and wind in the background of the recording might help to bring you right into the scene.

Since 1997, Friskeröd's farm has been run with the aim of creating a free zone for individuals of all species who for various reasons have not been able to adapt to systems based on subordination. The activity is non-profit and is primarily about developing a non-hierarchical coexistence between different species and individuals as well as between man and the surrounding nature. The basic idea is that every individual has the right to exist for his own sake.

The Song of the Grass is a collection of Emelie Cajsdotter’s memories of encounters and conversations with various animals, among them the thoroughbred horses of Jordan's royal stable that are seen as spiritual guides. 

Emelie invites us to the farm in person, or by listening this recorded stories, to help us come back to our true self, and coexist, with all individuals and nature in the web of life.
