Laid Out

A delve of dreamy delight, rumbling, chaotic and weird.

Penelope pauses briefly before coughing. At the kitchen entrance she begins her stroll in a straight line across the meticulously swept tiles. The grey cardiganed fellow remarks "interesting attire". She brushes his shoulder and continues on to the far wall where she examines the framed picture of a brace of ducks floating on a still pond; two are positioned separate, peering into the water mid-step before it's edge. To a mincing blender Penelope shouts "this is new". At this the grey cardiganed fellow will discontinue all mincing and cautiously empty the blender's contents into a small bowl. 

The bowl is put away and he turns to Penelope to ask of her well being. 

"Well enough I suppose" is her response. 

She coughs again and mentions accidently losing it last night. She says an apology is in order. He stands perceptibly still before bending down to pick up a recently fallen cloth. He remains there for a moment with cloth in-hand before standing upright.

As he asks how she is feeling she says she is sick. "Very sick" she adds a moment later. "I am tired."

He faces the cloth and wipes with renewed vigor. "I know a doctor..."

"We already talked about that guy."

"I forgot."

"No. You didn't." Penelope verbally estimates the probability of the grey cardiganed fellow being affiliated with a doctor (of any sort). "He-is-in-a-restaurant. A goddam restaurant." She looks toward the bar.
