I was knocked out when Jimmy offered this beautiful song to me to sing, but then it took me 3 months to build up the confidence and to practice it. Annmarie was a very close friend for a period in my life where I was generally feeling sorry for myself and often not the greatest person to hang out with. Annie, as I always called her, was a very dear friend during that time. Yet, when I went on to marry and raise a family, Annie became more and more isolated herself and it seemed I couldn’t keep our old friendship as it once so wonderfully was. When she passed away, too soon, these words came to me and I remember her often with a smile, straight talk and always a helping hand. Something I should have shown greater appreciation for when I had the chance.

This is a crude recording from my iPhone complete with background noise and such, but it was the first time I played it and decided it was what should be preserved despite its warts. I over-dubbed the harmonies and harmonica.

A side track suddenly popped into my head. It's something that happens to me sometimes. And I tried to catch it, because an hour later it probably wasn't there anymore.

I sent it to our dear poet/lyricist Peter, and it only took a couple of hours for an absolutely wonderful lyrical interpretation to be in my box.
Peter explained that this song's name was "Gaza" and I understood where we were going. A heartfelt thank you my friend, for your brilliant creations with your poetic vein.

- than playing bass accordion in an orchestra
- than learning basics of drum playing by myself
- than took guitar lessons for a few years
- than took a little bit african drums lessons
- than playing a few years in a band as a drummer
- than took some sax lessons
- than learning a bit keys and synths by myself
- than fighting to catch right tones on vocals....
- producing cover songs most since 2013
in between again and again doing nothing with music many years....
whether that has borne fruit it's your decision...
sure I'm not a professional but music shapes my life...
