May 13th see the release of 'Bluebird, Hollywood... Domino' the lead track from the anticipated mini LP '... from Prince's Park to Farsley - Volume I' to be released in on July 9th 2021

'Bluebird...' is a psychedelic upbeat 6/8 stomp. As one reviewer has stated reminiscent of '22 Dreams' period Weller and British psychedelic rock group Traffic. The overdriven bass and the chiming guitars have a hint of Macca's 'Rain' and Townsend's 'Seeker'

Since bursting onto the music scene in 2012, they have made a significant impact on the underground music scene. Their potent combination of uplifting and melancholic textured dreampop, shoegaze, postpunk, ambient and electronica rapidly gained them a sizeable international following despite the numerous issues they faced living between Canada and Ukraine.
 
Canadian-Ukrainian duo Ummagma have blazed quite a trail for themselves in their short history. Since emerging on the scene in 2012, they've landed press coverage and radio play in more than 50 countries, and have managed to strike an endearing chord with a good number of 'first wave' shoegaze and dreampop artists, especially from Creation Records and early 4AD rosters. 

"Ummagma have something very special about them that you don't find in many bands, that is an honest, believable & beautiful lyric delivered by an honest, believable & beautiful voice," says Malcolm Holmes of OMD. "When you combine this with the swirling ambience of lush layered guitars, this duo end up with their own unique sonic landscape." 

While Ummagma may have been influenced by the likes of Cocteau Twins, David Sylvian, Peter Gabriel, Pink Floyd and Slowdive, they don't immediately wear their influences on their sleeve. They have their own beautiful and unmistakeable sound that leads you on sonic trips and awesome detours, but they ultimately tell a story in an aesthetic that is wonderfully unique, invigorating and somehow loaded with hope.

Ummagma is an eclectic potpourri of dreampop, indie rock, electronica, post-rock, ethereal wave, space rock, post-punk, ambient and shoegaze. Their musical play is full of resonance, beats, rhythm and vocals ranging from gossamer to deadpan over a bed of intriguing soundscapes. Ummagma began as an affair of love and sound. Band members Alexx Kretov and Shauna McLarnon met in Moscow while soul searching, their relationship ultimately developing into a marriage and the musical partnership we know today as Ummagma. 

Ummagma debuted on the music scene in 2012, simultaneously releasing two debut albums. In the past few years, Ummagma has released several EPs involving several genuine music icons, including Dean Garcia (CURVE), Robin Guthrie (Cocteau Twins), Rudy Tambala (A.R.Kane), and Malcolm Holmes (OMD).

Ummagma won the 2013 Alternative Eurovision on Britain's Amazing Radio (representing Ukraine amongst 23 countries), as well as numerous independent music video awards. They have been featured in Rolling Stone Russia and Rolling Stone Italia. Ummagma also co-wrote, produced and performed on the 2014 debut Sounds of Sputnik EP, which saw them working with Graham Bonnar (Swervedriver, Brian Jonestown Massacre) and Fran Ashcroft (Damon Albarn, Lords of Acid). This album held in the CMJ charts for 7 weeks and earned them a Jagermeister Music Award (Russia's most prestigious indie music award).
