amongst the madness {full stream}

In 2021, my life changed when I was diagnosed with epilepsy. My first seizure happened while I was driving home after a long day working Lyft. I had just exited the main highway when, within minutes, everything went black. I woke up in the hospital with my wife by my side. She told me I had a seizure, that my car was totaled, and I had run into a pole. EMTs had to rescue me from the wreck and bring me to the hospital. I was completely disoriented, unable to piece together what had happened—or why.

At first, I tried to act like it was nothing, but the seizures continued. A neurologist eventually told me that the seizures were linked to stress and depression. I had no idea I was struggling mentally. I thought I was okay, but deep down, I wasn’t.

That experience shaped me in ways I’m still processing. I wrote this song as part of my healing journey, and I waited until I was mentally and emotionally ready to release it. Today, I’m grateful to say I’ve been seizure-free.

This song is a testament to the fact that life is fragile, but also beautiful. None of us are promised tomorrow, and we all face challenges that seem insurmountable at times. But healing is possible, and things can get better.

I hope this message resonates with you and brings you peace, just as it continues to bring healing to me.
