A New Time - ft. Neons Gone Mad

Re-reading Asimov's "Foundation" trilogy. It's not how I remember it. Anyway, I've tried to conjure up a cityscape with an element of loneliness, Terminus being on the periphery of the galaxy... A bit like us, I suppose.

The smooth sounding guitar is a Gibson Memphis 335.

A song I wrote in 1992. It sat unused, until now. I thought it would be a good one for Cosmic Keanu’s amazing baritone. Hope you enjoy!

  This song started with Artur composing a brilliant, open piece on his guitar, and sending it to Josh. Josh put the bass down on top of Ken's banging drums, but it took him a while to be able to get this one for some reason. Once he and Ken were locked in, though, they knew they had it. JJ then sprinkled his electric keyboard magic, followed by Tez, who lights up the whole thing with his electric guitar wizardry. 
  At Artur's request, Ken, JJ, and Josh added the big harmony vocals, "See you soon, in a better world." Artur wanted this song to be about the need for peace in the world. Last, but certainly not least, Stephen added the sitar intro. He also accomplished the herculean task of mixing and producing the whole thing for us.
  This is another true team effort by the Eclectic Collective. We hope you enjoy listening to it as much as we enjoyed creating it.

I've been on Soundcloud for six years now and it's been great exploring the work of other artists.  There is so much generosity of spirit on this platform, it's just what you need when most of your music is made solo. 

I started out playing classical and Spanish guitar, then took up flamenco to ease myself away from the confines of musical notation. As a result, Latin rhythms often creep into my music. 

A friend introduced me to steel string and electric guitars just a few years ago and I still find the scope they bring dizzying... but what fun!
