Really like this.  I'm saving up for a Music Easel, love the sheer scope for randomness with modular systems.

We are sharing today a new other people mix by journalist, community organizer and musician Spirodon from Free City Radio in Montreal. 

His words on the mix: This is a mix of local artists living and working in Tiohtià:ke / Montréal. It highlights artists that I have gotten the chance to work with directly around the intersections of art and social activism on a variety of fronts. All these artists have contributed in various ways to efforts to sustain and build a healthy, inclusive and transformative network for the arts in the city, while also working to explore the ways that artists can directly contribute to concrete struggles for change. Particularly I got the chance to work with these artists around the building of the Artists Against Apartheid concert series in solidarity with the BDS Movement to support Palestinian freedom. Others within this mix I have worked on artistic initiatives to support struggles for migrant justice and for the rights of undocumented people locally, particularly around the Immigrant Workers Centre. Also I selected artists who have been vocal against systemic racism and police killings for years, linked to community work over generations to build community power. Finally, I just want to say that all of these tracks are beautiful! Thanks for listening. The goal was set to input sounds of life and mix them with my own sound output.

To do so, i designed a blend of computer-made ambient loops with field recordings and sound design. The field recordings where taken as i traveled from Baja California to Ciudad de México, mostly from airports, planes, streets, parks, animals and my voice. As a result, the album consists in 7 lengthy tracks of minimalistic transitions.

The structure of every track is loop-based, therefore you can listen to the same sounds at the beginning then at the end, they will repeat through the entirety of the piece, therefore i chose to call it ''Versa''. In spanish, my mother tongue, it means ''To spin around something'', and ''To set a topic or theme'', however it seemed fit to the album and applied as a wordplay to name every track.

Based in Bristol, LTO first made waves as part of mysterious electronic collective Old Apparatus. As a solo producer, LTO has since attracted attention with three albums.

LTO's ambition to create ever more ambiguous and far-reaching sonic environments, whilst retaining something of the familiar and physical, have led him to take inspiration from imagined landscapes of the folklore of his Welsh ancestry and of the planet Mars. Both images of enchanted forests battling enraged giants from the underworld and unimaginably hostile planetary events guide this work of great magnitude.

In 'Daear', LTO explores an expansive sound pallet of swelling synths and noise, ambiguous string instruments, thunderous percussion, unearthly voices and his signature sound the piano, mostly processed beyond recognition. The result is a mysterious and deeply textured journey that could be set in both the distant past and uncertain future, on this planet or beyond.
