Ethereal Projector #3 Transcendental Meditation by Dionisaf | Deep Calm Meditative Mix

a folky, jazz fusion of 5/4 beat, guitars, slide - vocals - hard to explain - 
ⓀⒼiƞk 
seems to be a fitting for the times - Ruthless to the end -
this might be just a step - it's hard to determine when a song begins or ends. 
i like this 5/4 groove i wanted the basses to be simple and in fact one follows the orchestra part. This was mixed LOUD & may have lost things - but also gained a bottom end - what's popular today. 
 vocals are always tolerable - but when the slide guitars come in 
a nice enhanced feel - this one kinda wrote it self - as many - where trial and error spark ideas that i had not thought of. i had to rethink the guitars to go along with the feel - not being so independent. That's hard for someone that avoids to much repetition. That's the reason why my interests go into progressive rock, space rock, from the 1960 to today! It's one thing to have that basic sound a soloist can achieve - (unlike a live band) underground in a garage - but then to make it unique - this 5/4 idea came from another idea trying to be simple but no predictable using pop, folk, jazz, blues, psychedelic, experimental, old school mellow progressive folk, electronic, using 2 to 5 guitars, trio of vocals - fusions - i add vocals - just so more people will listen. I’ ve worked this piece as a transformation of other duo for flute and piano named “El reino del rêve” .
The continuous reworking of a set of gestures, rewritten again and again obsessively and the composition
of the tape part, were part of a process in which the polarities between sound forms seemed to be irreductible.
In one side the exploration of the instrumental energetic modalities , in the other side the search for a goal oriented syntax and the need of use harmonic to organise the musical space.

Praxema is a piece dedicated to the flutist Andrea Escobar. in which  I've  attempted to capture a series of idiosyncratic gestures that  she played in her energetic and expressive improvisations.
A praxeme is a unit of movement and in the case of this work,  I developed a series of written figures and in parallel a repertoire of similar sound objects 

The composition process grew from small units to macroform in a slow process of accumulation/disposal of materials.


Praxema , for flute and electronics

Free form composition for ride cymbals, rain stick, electric bass, celesta and two guitars (both with a decent amount of reverb, and one colored with the time-based effect of delay as well).  This piece can be played in any way as long as the specific instruments are used and the requirements are met.  The rule of this piece is to play for however long the musicians please and however the musicians want to play; the piece should be influenced by the instruments and their sound relationships when played together.

Deep Woods

For specific percussive instruments.  This piece displays the interesting quality of sound that percussion creates when it is music by itself.  I will gladly work with writing for percussion instruments for the rest of my life as it is fun; and I find it evokes a certain mood that isn't at all dramatic, which is something I like from music.  Expect more music for percussion in the future.

Music For Percussion #1

I enjoy the sound of dissonance and low bass rumbling.  This song includes just that, as well as two awkward sounding prepared guitars that truly complete the confusion within this piece.  I don't even know what to say about this song.  It was the product of a morning of watching Bill Maher, The Ricky Gervais Show and The Life And Times Of Tim, along with two cups of coffee.  Sometimes the most interesting efforts are achieved spontaneously and without hesitation.

for guitar, bass and drums.  The guitar has been tuned to sound just awful, coupled with distortion to give that awfulness some life.  This trio piece is like a fusion of the first two trios I have posted. Enjoy!
