Transmission Feat Samplair (disquiet0637)

So many choices and such great pieces! My finally decided on alanblip's "leftydrone" which I thought would go well with a conversation that I recorded from a shortwave radio. I removed the static and duplicated a few key phrases, but otherwise left it as is, aside from a bit of reverb and a few contributions from Meng Qi's beguiling Wing Pinger.

The Assignment: Record the second third of an eventual trio.

For the second one, I checked my favourites against the list of "unused pieces" and went with https://soundcloud.com/bzurke/jupiter-6-phased-noise-pulse-for-disquiet0636 by soundoferror because of its somewhat forbidding coldness. The strange pulses just called for my Lyra 8, which adds some more improvised noises and sirenes (through Soma Cosmos and of course phasers). I think there is plenty of room for something to give this a whole new direction.

If you need a left-right-version, just ask.

I sat inside, alone.
That’s all I had been for most of this time.
Just me, myself, and I,
In this tiny room, with nothing else but my laptop, drawing tablet and a pen
Seconds turned to minutes, and minutes turned to hours as I listened,
And envied the sound of excitement and happiness those younger than me were having.
No matter the reason for them meeting up,
I hated that they got to have fun while I waited.

Days closed in on the one I was meant to be with my own friends…
Each of them canceled, 1 by 1.
The loneliness only sinking in further and further,
As well as jealousy and envy for those who got what I didn’t.
Being an overthinker definitely doesn’t help in moments like this,
Makes me wonder so many questions that hurt to ponder.
Do they not want to see me? Was I annoying?
Had they finally had enough of me?

Were they tired of me?
Did I do something wrong?
Is my past repeating itself?
Is it happening again?! WHY?!
Please just tell me if you don't want to hang out.
I'll understand! I swear I will!
But please give me some clarity...
Oh, no reply? You're busy? Ok...
My phone is tossed across my bed.
My tears are allowed to pour and I comfort myself best I can.
That's how it's been for what feels like forever.
Doing everything with just me, myself, and I.
