As silent waters move
There's no layer left unstirred
These rivers tell a tale
of fleeting strife and jest
There's lightning on the sea
and it guides me back
  to the beach
  where I know 
  you could be reached

The lady of the lake
doesn't speak to me no more
I know my love was true
but she keeps closing doors
her name became a sign
when I turned the music on

The station has gone by
no turning back again
this train won't stop for none
of the reasons
  I think of
  When I think of you
  on the road
  where I could
  meet you again

Pleasure asks for dues
is it you or just your eyes
this war demands a truce
as I fear its tricks and lies

The land is dark and damp
but the road feels like a friend
soldiers passing through
on their way to a certain end
  that will come
  for all
  of us

I guess that I've been wrong,
misreading signs that weren't there
a disappering thought
that kept me occupied

I'm not a Catholic, but my mother-in-law is. That's why I dared to write it down in a very short time when it came "from above".

Time

Silent Tears

I am a singer-songwriter who mainly focuses on vocals and piano. I was influenced by artists like Tori Amos and Agnes Obel  and  I  grew up in a musical family between folk and cabaret.  I write both English and Dutch songs, sometimes quite literal, sometimes hard to understand, sometimes wordless, but always poetic!
I also give singing and piano lessons and lead choirs.
