Rainer Trueby’s brand new 3 solo single! After releasing his smashing solo debut on Compost Black Label (Livin In The Music / Es Lo Que Pasa / Hirtenruf) and doing “Schoko Bolla”, an all-night jam session (and an amazing free download and gift for all fans out there) he is back again teaming up with Danilo Plessow (Motor City Drum Ensemble). Funny, both Motor City Drum Ensemble and Rainer Trueby (as Trueby Trio - together with Roland Appel and Christian Prommer) have compiled a DJ Kicks.  
 
With its perfectly chosen post garage appeal „Jeck“ sets you in the mood for doing nearly everything and honours the slower, more subtly grooves in a very significant way. Reminds a bit to the early Nineties Nu-Groove Sound from NYC. Especially when the bombastic kick combines with the more jazzy, laid back keys. 
And when you realize that Trueby speaks (and sings) all of his vocals himself, you know that there’s the whole package! The record contains a further track “Welcome To Our World”, which is as moody as hell! Sit back and relax! Last but not least the 12inch includes a kick-ass Marcus Worgull’s remix.  
Marcus Worgull is one of the top addresses for deep house releases on labels like Sonar Kollektiv, Dixon and Amé ́s Innervisions and remixes like Farside Records, Running Back, Lovemonk or DFA.  
 
Rainer Trueby was born in Stuttgart on 20.08.1971. He was raised in the Neckardelta, a prosperous economic region along the river Neckar. He is catholic and goes to church on christmas. His first DJ experience was in an old people’s home (Arbeiterwohlfahrt) in Stuttgart in 1990 where Rainer was the host of tuesday 
afternoon’s teadance, developping a feeling how to rock an elderly but open-minded crowd (65+) with classics like "Es gibt kein Bier auf Hawaii". After having that DJing experience, Ali & Basti Tiefschwarz gave Rainer a sunday night residency @ their ON-U club in Stuttgart where the motto was "all things nice" ranging from Soul 
Funk Jazz to Hip Hop and Talkin Loud stuff. In 1993 Rainer met Compost head honcho Michael Reinboth. 
After some 12"s with A Forest Mighty Black and some compilations ("Glücklich") he teamed up with Christian Prommer and Roland Appel to form the Trueby Trio. Some 12s, one album ("Elevator Music"), one remix album ("Retreated") and numerous remixes followed. His club residency Root Down @ Waldsee / Freiburg is 15 years old now. He likes to play chess with Michael Reinboth. He likes a glass of wine as well. A decent meal too.

Impresario bone grinder, Justin K Broadrick, has prepared a new album for release on Speedy J’s Electric Deluxe label as JK Flesh. Broadrick has resolutely inhabited some dark and punishing corners of the musical landscape in his three decades of music production. Whether as a songwriter, guitarist, drummer, label head, studio producer or electronic alchemist, Broadrick has defined the sublime overlap of misanthropy, noise and arson-spirited audio. Making his initial marks with grindcore and industrial bands Godflesh and Napalm Death beginning in the late 80s, Broadrick’s musical career has arched from blast-beats to head bobbing hypnosis. With a slew of recent releases from his JK Flesh moniker for EDLX, Hospital Productions, Downwards, Pi Electronics and on AnD’s Inner Surface, Broadrick has increasingly taken low-fi cerebral sound exploration into techno’s polluted ozone layer; drifting amongst violent collisions of rusty space junk and taking aim at the outmoded species below.

JK Flesh’s 8-track double disk album for Electric Deluxe continues his assault on the failings and folly of humanity with a bludgeoning tour of dub influenced techno. A study in resolution, timber and distortion, the album’s tracks are diverse in mood and groove, but are united by the dark, porous and undulating surface texture of rippling analog treatment. Contemplation of humanity’s chances for extinction or evolution provided Broadrick with the mental scaffolding upon which the album’s inky and caustic eruptions precipitate. Titles like “Different Species” and “Super Human” on the album’s A-side betray his interest in futurist’s trans-humanist musings, while thumping garage baseline and searing interplanetary emergency sirens anchor the tracks in Broadrick’s mastery of noise. The album is generally packed with full-form bass, percussion and machine sounds. Though tracks like the B-side’s “External Transmission” juxtapose rubbery and wiry timbers, like the best of acid, over the low-end’s boiling black cauldron. “Earlier Forms of Life” and “Macromolecules” take morose side-long glances at the dance floor, but primarily develop elegantly grime-filled grooves under the constricting spacial canopies of hyper-detailed delay and reverb. Surface detail and dusty timbers rake the listener’s ear across the minimal composition of “The Next Stage”. The albums closing track, “Homo Sapiens”, drops you into the hopelessly gigantic hull of ship, echoing with sonar, heavy machinery and dulled low-frequencies as your iron tomb cuts across the dead oceans of our planet, or, as Broadrick has spent his musical pursuit, in search of a new one. Consider yourself on notice, a limited edition version of this album, complete with booklet and laser cut sleeve, will be released exclusively over EDLX’s bandcamp.

JK Flesh - Different Species

Brooding talent Prequel hops from one West Yorkshire-helmed label to another with a refined, organic EP for Lobster Theremin sub-label Distant Hawaii. 

Tender whispers of nostalgia and an enduring call of solace underpin opener 'The Song I Said I'd Make For You'. Dust-pattered EQ sweeps, twinkling semi-bells and washes of warm, incandescent synth. Buzzing low below the sofa; a hue from the matte surface of a fuzzy carpet. 

'And Though It's Been Too Long' startles, and it also sets. A slowly softening conundrum, a wild thought that coalesces in the briefest moment. Shuffling by but never forgotten. 

Sensual, caressed chords shower over label favourite 'People Say'. A personal moment of true love captured in time; I can see your face; can you see me? Some might call it a reprise of Ross From Friend's epic debut, most will say it's as sultry and captivating as the M&S advert. Rich, melted chocolate sax pouring over a bed of soft, padded sponge drums. 

Sombre note on the tail end; 'Give Me Things That Don't Get Lost' cuts a lonely figure in the morning mist. Bus stop waits, a solo journey through life. They never come. But then four come at once.
