木漏机日 ~ this mix is a very personal thing for me and it is so close to my heart that i want to make it public for all the people out there.
there is a lot of emotional work behind this 2 1/2h. musically, In all my years, I’ve never dedicated myself so intensely to one thing. it was really a beautiful experience and gave me a lot of joy.
i would also like to thank all the producers, writers & the lovely solveig who gave this one track a voice. without you it would never have become like this! <3

Next up in our mix series is our good friend, Aaron J. An esteemed label head, promoter and selector based in New York. Aaron is the founder of Sure Thing, a New York-based label and mix series operating at the boundaries of rhythmic, experimental dance music. As a performer, Aaron is inspired by the complex dialogues that arise between sound and emotion on the dance floor, with highlight appearances including Sustain Release, Monument Festival, and Nowadays. 

In this mix Aaron shows his level of empathy and attention-to-detail are unmistakable, layering, building and driving emotions ever onwards. With a truly unique-, flawless- and warm approach to music, Aarons sound has a true depth that remains in your brain and soul.

Rotterdam talent @nelly_dj for the newest contribution to the series, with a mix inspired by warm summer days in the city. Creativity is the tool Nelly uses to process, understand and cope with the world. She finds solace in forest walks as much as she does on darkened dance floors and losing herself in these moments allows her to reset, reflect and become re-inspired. 

With an intricate, developing journey from trip-hop, to deep techno, ambient, trance, dub and beyond, Nelly's world building approach has a certain pensive beauty to it.. perfectly fitting for the series.

An hour of ground-shattering bassweight and ear-catching percussive flurries, including plenty of unreleased material from Beatrice's Bait label, captures the pair in their primal element and demonstrates exactly why these two names are seemly on everyone's minds at the moment. Welcome to the Midgar Records takeover. Celebrating its 10th anniversary this year, the Berlin-based label will be taking over the 909 mix series for the duration of September with a mix running each week from a label affiliate with a full lowdown on the label to accompany the final edition.

kicking things off we have the german producer and dj aa sudd taking the helm - locked in with a rolling percussive-led mix.  aa sudd is known for his more experimental psychedelic productions that leans more towards the cinematic, creating these immersive worlds to get lost in. alongside his release on midgar, aa sudd has collaborated with konduku as kondsudd on amenthia recordings and released on mirror zone as vector tracer. aa sudd also hosts the incredible hyperterranean radio on lyl radio. now on its fourth season, the show has featured guests such as agonis, faery, timnah, sybil, kia, garçon, zara and more.

I had the joy of playing a sunny afternoon set 15:00-17:30 before Konduku, so I kept things bright, warm & groovy 🌻🧚🌞

This set features some IDM, electro and minimal tracks I haven’t played out in years, alongside recent releases I’ve been enjoying.

The whole festival was beautifully programmed and curated, and I heard many inspiring sets throughout the weekend in the iconic grounds of the Castell De Montjuïc.
