Started in October 2006 by Steve Lawler, VIVa Music began life as a conduit for the internationally renowned DJ and Producer to release the wealth of underground music he encountered on his travels. Now, just a few years later VIVa is a self-contained hotbed for new talent which draws attention from DJs, punters and producers alike. Having previously handled the now-classic and traditional vinyl label Harlem Records, Lawler decided VIVa was to be a forward thinking outlet for quality music and boldly announced that VIVa was to be digital only. As well as a clear mission to look towards the future of the music industry, this was a step to ensure that music could be released quickly and retain the freshness that the labels A&R was struck by. Far from the template set out by many of Lawler's contemporaries, VIVa quickly established itself as a label where artists could be themselves and write music that isn't defined by just A&R, but by one simple guideline: Quality. This has meant the label has gone on to release music from a wide range artists, from major players like Lawler and Audiofly through to burgeoning talent like Livio & Roby and Nicole Moudaber. In keeping with an ever evolving outlook, 2009 will see VIVa further transformed. Worldwide tour nights, Festival Arena, International Residency's and a new UK based residency at the legendary Ministry of Sound in London are just the tip of the iceberg. Always ones to buck trends, the VIVa family are pressing vinyl again alongside it's digital output as well as expanding its roster of relatively unknown talent rather than rely on the tried and tested. At the forefront of this exclusive roster of talent are the likes of Vrajitoroo, David Pher, Dragosh, Adroid Cartel, Jimmy Hill, Alex Tepper, TRNNSTR, Darius Syrossian & NYRA, Erphun and Sean Miller but VIVa will continue to work with what it considers extended family for both releases as well as remixes; which means the likes of Jamie Jones, Audiofly, Simon Baker, Tiefschwarz, Bearweasel, David Durango and many, many more. Vanessa Laino was born April 9, 1991 in Rome, from very young age collects important local presence in Rome, (Goa, Planet Roma, Gay Village, Ex dogana, Alibi, Vogue, BPM Park, Circolo degli Illuminati, Art Cafè and many more) and in many cities in the world such as Amsterdam (John Doe) and Berlin (Sage Beach, FluxBau); but the encounter with characters that have made the history of electronic music give her the desire to change, and soon discovers a new way to play live through Ableton and its controllers, with which the sound quality and the selection is excellent.

In 2014 was chosen to represent Italy at União Electronica in Luanda (Angola ) with Dana Ruh , Nuria Ghia , Estroe and Hanna Hais .

In 2018 she joined Jagermeister Music Lab, in Berlin, with Luca Agnelli, Luca Petrolesi, Luca Guerrieri, Re-Loud and many more, playing at Sage Beach, FluxBau and Bikini 25hours hotel (this last performance was aired on Radio Raheem in Milan).

After several years such DJ she started to produce music:

The common thread that links everyone involved in Life and Death is something beyond just their specific talents. 

Founded in 2010 as an Italian record label and event brand, Manfredi Romano’s Life and Death curates soulful dance music with a post-rock aesthetic.

He was born in Avezzano (L'Aquila) 26/07/1978

At 5 years sitting behind a beautiful piano and play.
After years of study in a school musical and classical composition,in 1991 he started his way as a DJ, listening to everything until you get to his house early records.

He begins his first appearances in the clubs of his city , working in radio as: Veronica 101, Alternative Station, RVM, where he acquired a good musical background.

In 1996 he was resident at one of the clubs major center of Italy, the Royalton, where we worked together many DJs on the national scene.

In 2001, resident of Guru Club House, and so he started to play between the various clubs Lazio and Abruzzo.

His determination and above all the professionalism to bring together the ideas of Angelo Billy London topped the charts in 2002 with "One More Important" on Alternative Route Recording produced in the same year DJ Magazine published an article about them, and the single appears on the compilation.

In 2006 he opened his own recording studio : '' Jaba Record Studio'',which is always looking for new ideas and sounds.

In 2009 he joined the staff of Club 66.

In 2010 he begins to work with Andrea Mattioli in Diva Records, and working with various producers in the International scene.

A lot has happened in the last 20 years of dance music, but one constant has been Get Physical right at the sharp end of the scene. The label has become a globally recognised symbol of quality, renowned for its always varied and vital house output. Forming the backbone of the label's vast catalogue is the influential in-house DJ mix series, Body Language. It is a snapshot of exactly where the underground is at and has been assembled by tastemakers such as Azari & III, Catz ‘N Dogz, Dixon, DJ Hell, Francesco Tristano, Nôze and of course label-founders Booka Shade, DJ T., and M.A.N.D.Y..

Next to that there has been a constant stream of innovative, dance-floor ready singles, crossover club classics, seminal remixes and a number of standout artist albums. The label has always stayed true to its house roots, but with a rich array of influences taken from the worlds of disco, deep, tech and melodic house. Along the way, Get Physical´s core artists have been joined by red hot new talents including Alinka, Thandi Draai, PAUZA, Yulia Niko, Birds Of Mind, CIOZ and Monkey Safari. There have also been carefully considered forays into thriving house music scenes in Africa, Brazil, Cuba, Croatia and India: dedicated compilations and EPs have highlighted those region's most exciting new talents and given them a global platform. 

The name says it all: Get Physical tracks could hardly be more moving and corporeal. It was true in 2002, and it will be true in 2025 and beyond.
