An early morning walk in the woods can greet one with birdsong, pungent aromas, and sometimes enough silence in the spaces to hear music.  So it was for Seagull one early morning not long ago; a beautiful tune with the breath of eternity poured into his soul and knew it needed to be captured and shared.  What an honor that he asked me to contribute to his vision and to work again with Soundcloud's poet laureate Peter as he graces the music with his words and reading.

Where the water lies, black with sin, by the rotted willow poles;
Where no good God is found within their fractured hollow souls.
Where schisted skies are poached of cloud,
Where thieves, disguised in widows' shrouds
Compel the novice Padre to weep aloud,
His apostolic senses stripped bare of Christian fraternity.

Where the earth resides, retched by carbon, lice-infested, heaving;
Where evil minds confide their secrets etched on hearts of the unbelieving.
Where hope falls dashed on the rocks of hate,
Where love's soft composites disintegrate,
Then the bells of grace will chime of late to bolster of a deeper faith
And ripple out a breathing space on waves of eternity.

Stefano Manotti is an Italian singer-songwriter, composer, and guitarist. In March 2021, he released his
first single ("Scorte d'amore") under the Soulgem Records label. In the same month, he joined the
Innovatory of Music, an association and international exchange program created by Paolo Schianchi to
bring together the most promising young Italian talents. In September 2021, he released two singles,
"Cercarmi" and "Dove Andare," in collaboration with Giulio Carmassi (former member of the Pat Metheny
Group), who handled the arrangements and mixing.
In May 2022, his first EP "Ideale" was released, solidifying his previous collaborations with Giulio Carmassi
and Paolo Schianchi. In August 2022, he shared the stage with Enrico Ruggeri as part of the Innovatorio
Festival. In January 2023, he released the single "Borsanera," which climbed to the top positions in
independent and emerging web charts and received airplay on Mradio. In September 2023, he released
two singles, “Leap in the Dark” and “Endless Road,” receiving a favorable review on the A&R Factory blog
which describes him as “virtuoso”.
In April 2024, Leap in the Dark receives the Absolute First Prize and the Visionary Creativity Special Prize  at the international Vivaldi music competition, in the Film/Game music category. On April 25th “Fly and Fall” reaches number 2 in Los Angeles and number 3 in New York in Spotify's local pulse charts

Now retired from a life 'on the road' as a freelance keyboard player, I compose and record in my home studio, situated in the Carrick Hills in Southern Scotland. My music is mainly instrumental in nature and is a reflection of my life experience, sometimes real and sometimes imagined.
My influences are many and I have quite probably been shaped by listening to the very many "giants" of music, both players and composers. From classical to contemporary jazz and everything in between. My main instrument is the keyboard, whether that be piano, organ or synth. But I also play banjo, flute and percussion. I have a special relationship'with bass, whether upright or electric and use virtual and synth basses from numerous sources, but mainly Trilian by Spectrasonics.

It has been a difficult year for me personally. Yet, musically, I believe I am writing some of my best music. What Inspires Me...I am inspired each day to compose music that touches and connects the listener in meaningful ways that are personal to their own experiences and feelings.  I believe what the world needs is more songs about love for all living things and the earthly treasures around us. The power of love is magical, mysterious, and miraculous!  And, it is essential to our survival like water and the air we breathe.  I believe that through the universal language of music, love can heal, bring joy, and create an invisible chain that pulls all of us together, not apart.  

A Little About Me...I started composing in 2016  after not touching the piano for many years. A career, raising a family and just every day life got in the way of making music. After retiring as a music teacher in the public schools, I started dreaming of playing the piano again and my years of classical training slowly came back to me. I love every genre of music, and the talent and creativity on SoundCloud has inspired me at every level!

For those of you who follow me on Soundcloud, I have been experimenting with adding tracks to my piano compositions.  I create and record everything myself using a Yamaha 660DGX, including the instrumental tracks built into the keyboard. Then, I edit on my laptop using Sony Sound Forge Music Pro.  It's a simple set up, and I have lots to learn.  I am not afraid of receiving feedback if you have any to give.  Sometimes, it's the most simple thing I may be doing wrong that changes everything!
