AIMES is the production moniker and musical alter ego of Alabama born, Brooklyn resident, Aman Ellis. His music is psychedelic at heart, provoking hints of new-wave, italo, and cosmic disco. The self-dubbed "Space Pop" explores vast sonic territories, keeping a close affinity to other-worldly psychedelia and interstellar weirdness.

When Chrome Canyon (Stones Throw) and Saarid (Throne of Blood), formed duo Soft Touch in Brooklyn in 2012, their intent was to make "adventurous pop music." For them, adventures encompass an array of sounds including vintage disco, 90's R+B, Golden Era NYC Hip Hop and House Music. Their latest release on Brooklyn Based Dither Down Records, is "Swim in the Night", which is available on 12" vinyl and digital download. Dru Barnes is a conceptual artist, musician, and self-described messenger. In 2013, he survived an attack that left him partially blind. Following his recovery, Barnes shed his former stage name, Jogyo, and embarked on a new artistic path. He turned to music--the purest form of expression--as a way to crystallize his profound near-death experience. 

Known for his groundbreaking live shows and dancehall rhythms, Barnes’ latest tracks are stripped down and lighter in tone, revealing truth and vulnerability. His music is born from improvisation, synthesizing trap, trip hop, hip hop, rap, and ‘90s dance beats with influences that range from R&B and folk to world and new-age music. His work explores themes of love, connectedness, and universal awareness, utilizing sound as a tool for transformation.

A native of Kingston, Jamaica, Barnes currently lives and creates in Brooklyn, New York, where he has performed at Lincoln Center and across the Lower East Side. His unique sound was featured on cellist Dave Eggar’s grammy-nominated album, Kingston Morning. He cites legendary musician Herbie Hancock as his guiding spirit and Grace Jones as his creative muse.

DJ Wool – A Life In Breaks is an album that perfectly reflects the era, records and sound that inspired Glen Brady to start making beats and DJing in the 1990’s. Replacing some of those iconic samples with warm modular and analog soundscapes, this album comes across as a classic breakbeat document evocative of the NYC and Berlin music scenes that have shaped Wool’s sonic evolution. 

From Breakdance and 808 workouts engaging the smoothness of all night Neuköln House clubs to Florida breaks influenced funk phenomena and downtempo musings, this is breakbeat culture that harks back to pre-Jungle UK Rave but still has the flair, simplicity and minimalism to fit smartly into the headphones and sets of today's tastemakers with a retro vibe reminiscent of such seminal labels as Mo’ Wax, Wall of Sound and Pussyfoot Records. 

Glen ‘DJ Wool’ Brady is an Audio engineer/Music Producer & DJ with over 20 years in the game. He has a massive resume with mixing and production credits for a vast array of styles and artists including REM, Dolores O'Riordan (The Cranberries), Spoek Mathambo, Todd Terry, Far East Movement, Herbert Gronemeyer, Jagz Kooner, Howie B, Andy Rourke (The Smiths), Tittsworth and so many more... Beginning his career as a DMC champion in his native Ireland in the 90's, Glen spent most of the 2000's touring and releasing as cofounder of NYC based Indie dancers The Glass before returning to his 90's moniker as DJ Wool releasing on Discobelle Records, Top Billin', Sounds of Sumo, Plant Music and many more from his base in Berlin. 

In 2012 he relocated to Northern California and has spent the last several years as an audio engineer in the Symphonic and Classical music world, the realization of a childhood dream. With an ever expanding Modular synth set up and a plethora of Remixes, DJ mixes and Live videos about to drop, it seems ‘A Life In Breaks’ is an appropriate title for this groundbreaking debut album and the enigmatic yet immutable artiste, DJ Wool.

Snowyman

The beating pulse of Northern England club life, married with the thriving independence of the region’s best venues and spaces pushes its way through on Galaxians' debut LP, Let The Rhythm In. A sound steeped in Leeds' enduring disco and house heritage – with inspiration drawn from the all-day parties of the late 70s and early 80s, the disco that emerged from the fading Northern Soul movement of the early 80s and the resonant acid house era that boomed across both sides of the Pennines. On Let The Rhythm In, the trio retain their raw playfulness, but add a whole new fluidity, a seamless flow between the rattle and strut of their analogue funk. The eight tracks crackle and fizz with a bristling energy and all together it's a life-affirming listening experience. 

The first single off LTRI is How Do You Feel, out 20 April on Dither Down Records. Full of the bristle, pulse and energy that the band's live performances have become well know for, the song’s soulful, muscular sound resonates with a raw playfulness. The addition of singer Emma Mason’s soaring vocal forges a path to a sound steeped in the tradition of New York disco and boogie heavyweights such as Inner Life, Gwen Guthrie, and producer/writer Leroy Burgess, while also being a thoroughly modern experience.
