Bartek Industries @ Moontribe April 2022

This is one of those sets that built up inside me, patiently awaiting its perfect moment. I found a few of these tracks some years ago and was struck by their unique flavor. Slowly but surely I built up my collection of what I would call the "indie-dance / nu-disco" sound. There is plenty of music under the blanket of those genres but much less of it out there that speaks to my personal tastes. I kept my ears open and picked them up one by one. This isn't a style that I will play often, but damn did it feel right on this beautiful sunrise morning in the desert. Smiling faces and dancing bodies radiated love and light, the speaker stacks roared and my heart was full. I hope you enjoy this set at full volume and dance yourself unabashedly into your happy place :)

This is the opening set at 11pm, which ramps up to some funky, dirty breaks at around the 21 minute mark.

The first 20 minutes of chill and tribal house was crafted as an intro that sets the tone for the night, as the bonfire was lit in a spectacular fashion at about the  14 minute mark.

Intense but dance floor friendly.

It's safe to say that Desert Dwellers are the most OG desert DJs that we know. In fact, Treavor Moontribe was one of the founding members of Moontribe Collective, the original community of California desert dancers who've been gathering under the full moon since 1993. We owe a ton of our inspiration to Moontribe and we might even go so far to say there wouldn't be a Desert Hearts without our founding fathers of the desert scene.

While we've had Treavor Moontribe absolutely kill it for us in the past, it's his ultra psychedelic Desert Dwellers project with partner Amani Friend that really made international waves. Predominantly a downtempo project, we first heard about a super rare techno / tech house set performed by Desert Dwellers through our partner Kristoff. And he just wouldn't stop raving about it...

Honestly we had absolutely no idea what to expect from a techno set by Desert Dwellers other than the good word of one of our partners. Their set was the one true wildcard on our lineup and it ended up being one of the most radical sets of the weekend. With the first 1.5 hours of the set being all original material, Desert Dwellers pulled off one of the best sets we've ever heard at Desert Hearts.

The desert dance floor was nice and warmed up for a techno train departing planet earth headed straight for the moon. Jumping on right after a stellar birthday set from Anton(https://soundcloud.com/antontumas), a funk n' groovy beginning got some wiggle out before launching into my brand of no-nonsense straight-forward psychedelic techno sound. A bunch of bouncing bodies were proof enough that there was either a lot of fun being had or folks were just trying to stay warm out there in the chilly moonlit night. Slated to release their eighth studio album, Desert Dwellers—consisting of Treavor Moontribe and Amani Friend—are sitting on an otherworldly 12-track offering. From their forthcoming LP, titled 'The Great Mystery,' the duo invites the listener on a profound, five-minute journey via “Bird Over Sand Dunes,” which features lush layers of intricately interconnected psy sounds. Spoken word interplays with serene vocalizations, while whizzing melodies drift across subtle basslines and sapid sub-bass growls. As always, Desert Dwellers makes complex compositions seem as simple as breathing.

[PREMIERE] Desert Dwellers - The Elephant's March [The Great Mystery 3/20 Black Swan Records]

I wrote this track quite a few years ago, but recently finished it with engineering help from the one and only Yuli Fershtat aka Perfect Stranger!!! It was mastered by the legendary Ido Ophir from Israel and I must say Im very happy with the final product! I've decided to give it away for free but will also eventually release it commercially as well. Enjoy!
