The ship is programmed on a course to Andromeda and the crew enters the hypersleep pods.
One by one, the sleep pods close and they are put to sleep.
From now on, a long journey with an uncertain outcome begins.

Hypersleep

The last passengers are in hypersleep and the countdown to the launch of the generation ship is on. The five-man pilot crew gets the ship ready for takeoff. All preparations are complete and ignition is imminent. Five, four, three, two, one, IGNITION. 
With a low rumble, the majestic ship slowly rises into the air. Faster and faster, the last remnant of humanity moves away from planet Earth.
With a last wistful look, the crew says goodbye to Earth and leaves orbit. The last radio signals fall silent and the ship leaves the atmosphere behind. Time to program the autopilot and enter the hypersleep pods themselves.
