Tolling of the Fire Bell.  This song is about the marching and movement of time and so you can hear the fire bell tolling.  Its also an impressionistic modern piano piece and a story illustrated by cello and English horn

Twilight Moment is a revisitation of Calling County Clare with elements from a number of the other pieces.  Its like a summary of the album and another visitation of my need to explore the Enya style vocals.  Its very much a vocal piece.  The album starts and finishes with the Calling County Clare theme but done in a completely different way.

Desert of Crystal is a piece I wrote mid career and wanted to revisit.  I have often been told my voice sound like Enya, and yet I had never done the big layered Enya style vocal pads.  I wanted to lift the piece and let it soar with a choral feel and the crystal sounds in the higher register of the violin to tell the story of Antarctica.  Crystal Desert is the nickname for Antarctica.  I have been there on an expedition cruise and have a fascination with Antarctica.

All that is Left is about me putting my story of ghosts to bed.  Moving on from the issues that I had dealt with in my previous albums.  Its also telling the story of an outcome and to that end – what is left.

Prayer for Rain has a Debussay’esque impressionistic style and also comes from the bushfires.  The music style crosses into the modern classical world.
