After the first two Earthly Tapes & a handful of EPs, Earthly Measures drops its first full-length album with Mente Organica’s El Espacio - a beautifully crafted album with glorious textures, steady grooves, calming vibes & a dancefloor filler or two.

Born in Bogotá, Colombia – producer & multi-instrumentalist Mente Organica has slowly been making a name for himself within the folktronica/Latin scene. Following multiple album and EP releases over the past few years, El Espacio marks his first release on wax and the music stands out from anything he has done before. These 8 tracks surprise & reward the listener as individual harmonies at first, and finally, as a whole and immersive symphony.

From “Pablo Bebe’, a track he wrote which is inspired & dedicated to his best friend – to ‘Close the Door’, written in the depths of quarantine, reflecting isolation, loneliness & introspection, & ‘Yoga’ - a song written with his father that can be easily heard filling the dancefloor as well as easy bedroom sessions, this album truly does feel like his most personal work yet. ‘Eagle’- an utterly unique track born in Pucon, Chile, after meeting opera singer Katy Prado - blends sensibilities of 60s psychedelic rock vocals with Mente’s signature electronica. ‘Dame Un Segundo’ is the lobby track of the album, with Balearic vibes: chilled, jazzy & floaty. Title track ‘El Espacio’ pays homage to Mente’s influences growing up - think Massive Attack, Thievery Corporation & Air - giving us that Trip Hop vibe. ‘Huanini’ is a real groover - a low-key dance track that evokes that “start of the night” feeling of excitement, with heavy experimentation of granular synths. Finally, rounding the album off with melodies of hope, delight and positivity, ‘Partida’ reminds us that there is always light at the end of the tunnel.

DeepNasik is a Bulgarian music producer currently based in Abu Dhabi, UAE. The passion for music production started during his childhood period in Sofia, (Bulgaria) where he began experimenting with different DAWs and synthesizers available at that time. Today his style can be defined as a deep, melodic journey combining electronic and organic beats mixed with well-rounded bass lines.

The tracks feature powerful Balkan elements such as traditional vocals, percussion and string instruments. The combination of those melodic pieces and the deep sound signature of DeepNasik makes the EP an unique inspirational journey that easily conquers every listener.

About Cantos a la Madre

We are in a new era, a time that many say has come to connect with the sacred feminine energy and sow the seed of healing to the wounded masculine energies. It is time to reconnect with the mother's energy and ancestral wisdom, leave our fears behind and wake up all together.

In 'Cantos a la Madre' (Chants to the Mother) each artist presents an interpretation of the concept of 'mother' in their own 'chant', forming a multilingual compilation that investigates the development of a new electronic music in harmony with the lyrical tradition of different cultures. It includes songs in the native languages of South America such as Quechua, bits of Mapudungun, and interesting musical creations in German, Ukrainian, Hebrew, as well as many in Spanish, English, and more.

With a large feminine presence plus the invitation to work in a mixed way between women and men, the album is an attempt to take electronic music one step further, highlighting the use of the human voice and, as well, reflecting on this broad and wonderful concept of ¨the mother¨, a concept that is transversal to all living beings on this planet.

We invite the public to listen and collaborate with this project with the intention that any help, whether in donations or simply by sharing this album (that's free!), is in itself a little but important seed for the rebirth of this art and part of its community, plus all donations on Bandcamp will go directly to the artists, heavily affected by the closure of all live shows for a long time.

More than thirty years of friendship under the sun and still counting; the Brazilian musical producers Alexandre Lora & Arthur Moraes (AVM) never replaced or forgot their bonding; they withstood the ups and downs, hardships, cross-country moves and other changes over the years. And we cannot resist at all a pact between friends to produce music together for fun. In this case, came into view 'Handpan' and its debut Itapeti Souls EP.

Besides being part of the title, 'Serra do Itapeti' is also the background for their childhood, the uneven terrain of the Brazilian relief called 'Mares de Morros', which extends for thousand hectares of the State of Sao Paulo, including their hometown Atibaia. And since the way producers do music has evolved significantly in the past two decades, curiously the duo leisurely cooked this 5-track EP over two years, mainly due to an unmatched free-time schedule.

After all mentioned before is quietly easy to understand the work's name; 28 minutes long and includes two original tracks — 'Connecting Souls' and 'Itapeti', one rework from Nada's track Passana, and the two tracks remixing 'Itapeti' — one by the psychedelic wizard Yabiru and other as a tribal version. And as the duo's name indicates, this project is purely based on the handpans, instruments that possess a great resonance and through their round, convex shape, their sounds emanate in all directions, filling the minds with vibration and resonance. Throughout its holding the EP shares tranquil, joyful, meditative and mysterious off-limits atmospheres while being driving-mood and here and there adds haunting nuances.  

Hard to define, though easy-listening. Somehow it unfolds delicately outward in sparkling layers of warm construction, solid percussion and unpredictable vocals; there's an underlined hoovering consciousness all over the pieces, putting it under the lens of what's bubbling in their sonic micro universe.
