Born In Mexico is proud to present the new edition of "Tandem". On this occasion, the guest artists are Juan Soto and Pato Watson & Le Chev. The EP includes two brilliant original tracks accompanied by remixes by Rigopolar and Dan Solo.
 
The EP begins with "The Map" by Juan Soto, a fascinating intergalactic journey where bass and drums intertwine with constant energy, while pads softly envelop the listener. Rigopolar contributes his vision in the remix of "The Map", offering a deep and lysergic version. The melted bass, reverberating voices, and enveloping synthesizers transport the listener to a sonic trance.
 
Continuing with "Head To Head" by Pato Watson and Le Chev, the EP reaches new heights of intensity. The cyclical rhythm hypnotizes while the bass and drums drive forward, immersing the listener in a sonic whirlwind of synthesizers. To close with a flourish, Dan Solo transforms "Head To Head" into a powerful psychedelic journey, maintaining an intense and captivating rhythmic base from start to finish.

Dutch Italo-house purveyor and revered selector DOCTR joins Feinstoff with ‘Lucy’s Dream,’ a two-track EP dripping in euphoria and sophistication, featuring powerful remixes from visionary label head Freudenthal and pioneering producer Lauer adding his ever-groundbreaking sound.

With nods to the early Chicago house scene and the golden era of Italo Disco, the title track ‘Lucy’s Dream’ propels us into a feel-good, sun-drenched anthem, transporting the listener to day parties of the past and present. Shimmering piano stabs sit above a defined analogue bassline, with swelling synth lines slicing through the mix. A beautifully harnessed LFO bursts open the track after the breakdown, culminating in what can only be described as an instant piano Italo-house classic.

The legendary Lauer joins the release with another unstoppable remix, using his signature sound and innate ability to elevate an original to next-level heights. Unmistakable pads and chorus-drenched guitars launch into an ascending, rasping riff keeping us hooked from the get go. Lauer’s unique take on Italo Disco and seminal sound are on full display, with an augmented chord pattern that steadily keeps us on our toes. Simply put, Lauer does it once again in full force.

‘Gold’ presents itself as a homage to the finer realms of Italo Disco, but with a modern twist. DOCTR’s reinterpretation of the nostalgic tone, rising celestial arps, and transcendent synth hooks contribute to this sense of evolution. With nods to vaporwave and disco, ‘Gold’ certainly earns its fitting title.

‘Gold’ receives Freudenthal’s special touch, completing this release. Freudenthal brings a muscular bass tone and respectfully enhances the original’s riff. Freudenthal lifts the energy to that of a peak-time atmosphere, leading us through a carefully woven sonic journey. He builds upon the euphoric and nostalgic emotions of the original with delicate arps and a beautifully fitting counter riff. The label head ties up the EP in an innovative style.

Rob Woodward, AKA Demetae, dons his Tasteless Talk alias for the first time for the ‘Love’s Destination’ EP on La Mano’s Sound Du Jour label. Alongside the single, Woodward is joined by PBR Streetgang and 1⁄2 of PBR Streetgang, Magari, for the remixes. 

It follows Demetae’s recent ‘Space-time Sleaze’ EP on Sound Du Jour, which won support from Chloé, Mufti, Captain Mustache, Posthuman, and many more.

As Tasteless Talk, Demetae writes 80s-inspired Italo, Disco and Electro Funk, lacing the ‘Love’s Destination’ single on Sound Du Jour with retro synths and the passionate vocals of vocalist MILLICENT. Bodied drums hang down low, airy melodies and nostalgia-rich lyrics at the forefront before Bonar Bradberry and Tom Thorpe’s PBR Streetgang remix the track. Their version ups the energy via an organic breakbeat and layers of additional harmonies while maintaining MILLICENT’s timeless vocal. 

Bradberry then goes solo for the final track on the EP as Magari, his Scena Finale mix of ‘Love’s Destination’ features bold rhythms, chugging bass and an EBM-tinged feel.

Liquid guitar figures give way to a tight lysergic chug, crystalline chirps, and effortless drops define this call to arms for tuned-in dance floor astral travelers.

Stretching out, flexing the sinewy acid lines hidden just below the surface, reducing the spry bounce of of the original to a monolithic arpeggio-drive, the boys at Streetgang headquarters manage to redirect the Tegel Boys’ crisp and athletic live-band disco instincts into a whole new realm of 5am realness.
